I have up for sale my 1957 Willys Jeep CJ5 This special Jeep was restored by the previous owner who told me that he had bought it from a gentleman who had had the Jeep since the mid 60s in Acton, CA. I have had the Jeep painted Corvette Red, and it looks outstanding. The Jeep is powered by a rebuilt 1965 327 v-8 Corvette engine with a 4barrel Rochester Q-Jet carb and intake. It has close to 375 hp and 350 tq. Custom exhaust, New Aluminum radiator with fan (Alabama weather) that keeps everything cool. It has 2 gas tanks, a refurbished original under the driver's seat, and a new rear gas tank that was added from a CJ7 There is a switch between the seats that lets you choose which tank to use. I prefer not to be sitting on a gas tank, so I use the rear tank. The following parts are about a year and a half old: thermostat, electronic distributor, water pump, new coil, new plugs, new wires,, Edelbrock valve covers and filter. The Tranny is a Sm 420 4 speed with a granny gear. The transfer case is a T-18 twin stick. Dana 30 with Warn locking hubs up front and a Dana 44 with new bearings in the rear. This Jeep can go anywhere with this combination. Wheel cylinders, shackles,bushings body bushings, and shocks are a year and a half old. It has a four inch Rancho suspension lift. The rims are custom made with special offsets for front and rear. Tires are 33s. The interior is also new and custom made. Tub is Herculined. Newer windshield, and seals. Diamond plate body guards. Custom seats that recline, tilt wheel, custom real wood trim with matching glove box door and steering wheel. Newer gauges (2 fuel tank), newer bikini top, new fender flares. New H4 headlghts and new bezels. Led parking lights (front) and led stop lights. I had front disc power brakes, rotors, calipers,stainless steel lines, etc installed last year, as the old brakes were drums. I have a great stereo c/d player installed along with an Eclipse 4 channel amp that runs 2 rear Polk waterproof speakers that are housed in custom ammo boxes, and a 10 inch Sub bolted down in the rear. The console is also a black ammo box that I have bolted down. Since I am 5'11 I had the fender wells cut back about 3.5 inches to give me more leg room. they were rewelded and waterproofed. I'm sure I am forgetting some other things.The Jeep is a conversation starter and gets LOTS of attention. It looks like a toy with too much horsepower and sounds fantastic. Everyone wants to take pictures with it or con me into letting them drive it. It is a very reliable vehicle and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. This Jeep is not a toy, it has a lot of horsepower and I would prefer an expeirienced driver that will respect and enjoy it. The most common thing said to me at the gas stations and red lights are "that is one bad A$$ Jeep" also "what year is it" I am selling to make room in the garage before my wife kills me for having too many toys. The NADA price report lists this vehicle's sell price at low retail at $3,875 Average retail as $9,300 and high retail at $18,200 This Jeep is highly modified and has many upgrades and extras.
