Had been wanting a particular bike fo several years, when the opportunity arose, I bought it. In order to help out the seller who wanted to liquidate his collection, I also purchased most of his collection. After buying it, I found a registration slip from 1994 for Tim Stafford . Tim Stafford is a top BMW Restorer in the San Diego area. I have seen his restorations sell in the $20,000.00 range at the Mid-America Auction, and that was quite a few years ago. Back to the registration, Tim registered the bike with an expiration date of June 1995. The California plate is still fitted with the 6/1995 sticker still fitted. I believe that the man I bought the bike from Tim and put it in his collection. It is a work of art. From looking underneath the fenders, it is obvious that it had not been ridden much since the restoration. The trip on the speedometer is just under 400 miles, and its possible that is the total ridden since restoration. Note the detail on the engine, where tim always manages to get all the castings to look new. Most hardware appears to be re-plated and polished. New tires and tubes have also been fitted. My plan had been to take this to the Auction in Las Vegas in January, but thought I would give it a try on here first. The price will be higher at the auction. Flushed the tank, cleaned the carburetors replaced the petcock and fuel lines. Installed new battery. Engine started on first kick and sounded like a new one. All shipping paid by buyer.
