Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my beautiful fully optioned 1975 Stingray finished in its original factory color combination of dark red with dark red interior. Following is a description of the history, options and condition of the car. The overall condition of this Stingray is very good and definitely a local show car contender. I have owned concours grade cars and have also judged concours events and this is not a concours/restored car, but it is definitely a number 2 car (see Hagerty.com value guide). Please look at the photographs carefully and feel free to contact me for any further clarification, Simon (559) 349-3109. I have been collecting classic cars for 25 years and I am a Jaguar mechanic by trade. I also own a classic car limousine service, bigcitylimo.com. I have sold several cars on eBay, so please check my feedback. I am selling this Stingray because I have recently purchased a 1963 Jaguar E-Type project and I need the funds to restore it. HISTORY I bought the Corvette last year from a lady (Pat), who had purchased the car when it was 6 months old. Pat had wanted an L82 four speed car and was told by the dealer that it was not available in California due to emission regulations. He managed to find one that was 5 months old in Colorado and had it shipped to his dealership in Merced, California. Pat purchased it as a used car for $9,100 and then kept it until last year. The Stingray still retains its original license plates and surrounds from John Roth Chevrolet. I have all of the receipts from the time Pat purchased the car until now, including the original sales contract and financing document from Disneyland Credit Union. OPTIONS As I stated earlier, this Stingray was highly optioned from the factory and below is a list of the factory options: A31 Power windows A85 Custom shoulder harness C50 Rear window defroster C60 Air conditioning J50 Power brakes M20 4 speed manual N37 Tilt & telescopic steering column N40 Power steering U05 Dual horns U58 AM/FM stereo radio UF1 Map light The car has its original trim tag with the number 732 denoting deluxe dark red leather interior and the number 74L, denoting dark red exterior. The 5th digit on the VIN shows the letter “T”, which means that the car has an L82 engine and one of only 2,372 built in 1975. DRIVE TRAIN The engine was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago (receipts included in file) and a recent compression showed between 170 – 180 psi on all the cylinders. The engine runs strong and idles smoothly and quietly. The exhaust system has been changed to a dual exhaust and the catalytic converter has been removed. I believe it still has the stock mufflers as it is very quiet for a vintage Corvette. The transmission shifts well, but there is a slight issue with 2nd gear. When de-accelerating, it pops out of 2nd gear. It only seems to do this when driven a little hard. There are no clunks or whines coming from the gearbox or rear end and the car does not run hot. It runs about 1/3 of the way up on the temperature gauge. I recently had the radiator rebuilt and replaced the heater core. The car tracks well and does not pull to one side or the other and has no shakes at speed. The car stops extremely well as the brake calipers have been replaced and have very little miles on them and the brake master cylinder is new. The odometer shows 59,000 miles but in fact the documentation shows 159,000, which is less than 4,200 miles a year. EXTERIOR The paint is in excellent condition and looks new. All the lights work and the lenses range from good to as new condition. The windshield looks new, but the rear window has some light scratches. The emblems appear to be original and are in very good condition. The stainless steel A pillar post have some scratches. The door seals and A post seals are new. The tires are in excellent shape and the original trim rings and center caps are very nice. The wheels are the original 15 X 8 AZ codes. INTERIOR The interior is a mixture of very good original and brand new. I recently replaced the dash top, A pillar posts, door panels, floor mats and leather seats. All of the courtesy and dash lights work, including the glove box light. The gauges look new, but are all original, although I did update the tachometer electronics with a kit from Corvette America. The AC blows cold and the heater blows hot. If you have an eBay feedback rating of 2 or less, please contact me before bidding or bid will be canceled. Please email or call me with any questions before bidding. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.
