Vehicle Detail
1962 Buick Skylark Convertible was purchased by me 7 years ago. I have to many cars and need the room. It has been kept inside since I have owned it. I am the second owner. Originally purchased new in 62 by a local judge. He passed away and his widow sold it to me. It has Power Windows, Power Steering, and Power Top which all work. All the glass is in good condition. The car has Factory A/C that blows air from the fan. I have not charged the system as it takes R12. The radio works but the clock on the dash does not. The electric windshield wipers work well. The Black convertible top is fair and has some shrinkage above the side above the windows. On line a replacement cost less then $500. including window and installation kit. The current rear plastic window on the car is fine for now. The brakes are new and rebuilt 3 years ago. All five tires are new but the left front started to wear on the inside. I had the front end rebuilt but have not changed the tire wit hte spare yet. The body was painted with Lacquer and has some cracking to it. Polished up it looks good. No rust visible on body. One rust hole in trunk by gas filler tube the size of a nickle. Interior is fair. could use new floor carpets and the top of the back seat is split due to the sun drying it out. Someone painted the door panels red and could use attention. This is a TEXAS CAR. The engine, 215 Nailhead Aluminum V8, runs great. It has a 4bb carb that was rebuilt. Water pump, master cylinder have been replaced. The automatic transmission had a strong leak when I bought it. I had a transmission shop rebuild it last year and it still leaks but niot as bad. The Transmission is a two speed automatic that shifts twice in first and twice in second. I took the car to Crusin the Coast last year and had no problems. Too many cars and something has to go. I'm a Tri Five Chevy guy. NO TRADES, like I said, I need the room. All in All it is a nice car. Drives great and sharp looking. Make an offer from a fun car that you can drive.
