1974 VOLKSWAGEN THING CONVERTIBLE NEW 1600CC ENGINE NO RESERVEHi Ebayer's, up for auction is this Awesome 1974 Volkswagen Thing, manufactured for only 2 years the Volkswagen Thing is not only rare but in a class all it's own, is it a sedan? is it a convertible? is it a Baja vehicle? or maybe a suv, it's a "Thing" and it will be up to you to figure out how you want to use it. This V-Dub is a true survivor, purchased from the second owner who owned it for 15+ years, he had the engine replaced about 2 years ago with a Volkswagen 1600cc engine made to take unleaded fuel. After the engine was replaced the vehicle was hardly driven and has less then 8K miles on it, passed emissions and has currant tags. This vehicle is in really nice original condition but is not showroom, could use a new paint job and some interior work, top has a tear on passengers side near window and back bottom portion of plastic window came undone at the seam, there is a few areas on the vehicle that has some rust, like the battery trey and on the passengers side near the bottom rear fender, but it is quite impressive that it's very minimal considering it's age, this is a vey solid vehicle.
