Vehicle Detail
Listed here is my 1991 BMW 318is e30. This might be one of the nicest e30 318is in existence. This car is uniquely optioned, everything works perfect, and has an excellent story on top of it all. I am the 3rd owner (2nd owner bought it in 1992), and have all maintenance records, paperwork, and documentation. The car features: Factory Options: Grey Cloth Interior BMW Alarm System with keyless entry BMW 6-disk trunk CD changer 4.10 Limited Slip Differential (LSD) Manual Sunroof Upgrades: R134 A/C Conversion blows ice cold New M3 offset Control Arm Bushings H&R e30 M3 Sport Springs Koni Adjustable Sport Shocks Rear shock reinforcement plates New 205/60R14 Falken Ziex ZE-512 tires Stromung catback exhaust (developed for and on this car Recent Maintenance Complete list in Google Doc Highlights: New BMW front is lip spoiler (3/13) Febi Control Arms (2/13) Strut Mounts (2/13) Rear Shock Mounts (2/13) New Thermostat and BMW blue coolant (12/12 All fluids replaced with Redline (gearbox, differential) (12/12) New Belts (11/12) Brake Fluid Flush with ATE Super Blue (11/12) Condition: 141,252 miles on working Odometer Completely crack-free dash Absolutely no rips/tears/stains on original cloth seats No leaks or low fluids All original body panels (minus front left fender that was replaced with a BMW replacement fender in 1993 after a crease was put in it from a shopping cart) Hairline cracks in paint on rear spoiler (Very common on these. I sanded and repainted with black trim paint, could use a bit more work) Few Dents on hood from bad hood strut. Should be easy PDR Original Paint, some rock chips on front valance and hood Cracked Left fog light (still functions fine) Full tool kit Original Suspension (springs struts/shocks) included Various new parts (oil filter, belts, rear sway bar end links, etc) includedBMW Sun Shade includedOriginal BMW Floor mats included, though faded The Story: I bought this car from the 2nd owner in November of 2012. He was an 87 year-old German man who bought the car from his friend in 1992 who bought it for his wife that hated it. He maintained the car meticulously from 1992 on, and kept the car for 20 years until age along with having too many toys caught up to him. The car was originally in New Jersey until 1999 when he moved to Arizona. In New Jersey, it rarely saw snow, and its last 13 years in Arizona were easy always being kept safe from the sun in the garage and only driven on the weekends. All maintenance was either performed by himself or a BMW dealer. I have always wanted an e30 318is because the M42 4-cylinder matched with the classic e30 body is in my opinion, the best example of the spirit of BMW. This car is the absolute nicest example I have found in years of searching. The M42 revs effortlessly and the Stromung catback adds the slightest growl with no drone. The gearbox shifts smooth as can be, and the clutch feels great. The upgraded suspension really livens up the handling, while the ice-cold A/C makes driving in all climates a breeze. To add to it, the working CD Changer and original BMW tape deck with original speakers add to the charm of this 22 year time teutonic time capsule. I never had any intention of selling it, but a move across the country is forcing me to part with my dream BMW early. This car is already at the top of my “regret I sold it” list, and I haven’t even parted with it yet. I’m really hoping the car finds someone that respects it and will enjoy it as much as I do. If the car sells to someone in California, it will come with current smog certification. Please arrange your own shipping ahead of time. I have full confidence that this car could drive across the country without an issue. Fly in, pick it up, and drive on home. I can pick you up from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, CA if you chose this option.
