This Corvette has the all the comfort, handling, steering, braking, and safety of a modern sports car. To begin with, the frame and mechanicals has been modified to provide all the benefits of modern world class drivability with the distinctive styling of this 1959 Corvette. The result is a great looking and handling car that can be driven by anyone with total confidence. The basis of the mechanicals is the C-4 Corvette (1984-1996) and having only GM factory components keeps this Corvette "Genuine GM".The powder coated frame and suspension have been assembled and fabricated by a Corvette specialty company by the name of Paul Newman Car Creations of Templeton, California. These modifications include: four wheel independent suspension, four wheel disc brakes complete with drill and slotted rotors, power rack and pinion steering, forged aluminum suspension components, computer designed suspension geometry for optimum handling with radial tires, and Elastomer engine mounts for less noise and vibration.The engine us an updated 350 c.i. fuel injected Chevrolet LT-1 that has been modified for use in this 1959 Corvette. It has tubular headers that exit into the stock exhaust through the rear bumper location. The cooling system has been enhanced and updated by a Be Cool aluminum radiator. The transmission is a 700R4 GM automatic and is controlled by a floor shifter located in the stock factory configuration. The firewall has been slightly modified to accept the engine transplant and actually gives the engine compartment a superior appearance.The exterior has been completely refinished with professionally applied proper red paint. All the bright work has either been replaced or replated and is in show condition. The tires are new Velozza XV with 255/35/ZR20 on the rear, and 255/35/ZR1 on the front. All four tires are mounted on brand new Foose five spoke aluminum wheels and they are fantastic. All the glass is in exceptional condition showing no delamination, chipping or scratches. The entire exterior of this Corvette is in exceptional condition needing absolutely nothing.Now to the interior: It is all back, and again similar to the rest of the car, it is in exceptional condition. The carpeting is as new, the door panels are as new along with the seating area. The dash is unique with updated complete VDO instrumentation, except for the speedometer which remains stock. The radio has been updated with an AM/FM stereo that has a very original appearance, and of course it is equipped with vintage air conditioning.
