1979 CBX - Honda's Legendary 6-Cylinder rocket ship. At the time of its introduction, the CBX was the fastest production motorcycle in the world. Excellent condition, start & runs well - super strong bike, no smoke, no leaks - zero drips on garage floor. No dents/scratches, cosmetically a "9" - though many people think its a show bike. It attracts attention wherever you go. I am the 3rd owner of this bike. The first owner was a retired Honda bike mechanic who keep the bike stock and impeccably maintained. The 2nd owner (also a senior rider) tastefully modified the bike to address some of the 1979's shortcomings and make it a better riding bike, but at the same time retain much of the stock look. So if you're looking for a CBX to ride - this is it. The wheels and brakes from the Honda CB1100F were added to achieve better handling and much better braking. In addition the one-piece alloy rims offer much better tire choices. The slightly wider tires give the bike a meaner look, more appropriate for a bike of this caliber. The stock exhaust (US version) suppressed the incredible 6-cylinder howl, so a somewhat stock looking Kerker 4 into 2 exhaust was added. In addition, a SuperBrace fork brace was added to stiffen the forks. New aftermarket springs and shocks were added to the rear. An 8" headlight was added in place of the smaller 6" headlight. Not only does it provide better illumination, but it looks better - many believe it should have come this way originally! Vintage aluminum turn signals were added in place of the ugly "dinner plate" originals.
