Vehicle Detail
1974 Honda CB550 Four Up for auction is a 1974 CB550K0 in beautiful Flake Sunrise Orange. This bike is entirely original and was recently pulled from a Kansas barn after sitting untouched for 25 years. It has not been repainted or restored. It has 4,753 original miles. It is a true survivor that retains its original yellow inspection paint markings that were applied during manufacturing to assure the nuts and bolts were all torqued correctly. After it emerged from its long barn exile, the tank was removed and professionally cleaned and lined. The carbs were cleaned and synched. The front brake caliper and master cylinder were rebuilt. It has a new petcock, fuel lines, spark plugs, air filter, turn-signal relay, and a fresh oil and filter change. It starts, runs, sounds, and rides as new. It has been ridden 250 trouble-free miles since its barn rescue. It has two new period-look IRC Grand Speed tires and a new YUASA battery. Everything works as it should: lights, signals, horn, neutral indicator, etc. The original owner’s manual is included along with the tool kit, which is complete. While this bike is in wonderful original condition, it has not been restored and there are areas that are less than perfect. The rear swing arm could use re-painting and there is surface corrosion on the frame under the seat. There is light rust on the inside of the two lower exhaust trumpets. The underside of the speedometer has corrosion and both gauges are faded and could be replaced, however I thought it important the bike remain original. All electical components work perfectly, however the harness is frayed in places. There are other small scratches and imperfections; again, this is not a restored show-bike, but a complete, original survivor that gets more “thumbs-up” than any motorcycle I’ve ever owned. It has a free and clear Kansas title and will be sold with a bill of sale. Examine all pictures and ask any questions before bidding. It is being sold as is with no warranty. A non-refundable deposit of $500 must be made via paypal within 24 hours of auction end. Balance is due by cash or wire transfer within 5 days of auction end. Bike must be picked up in Overland Park, Kansas. I will not ship the bike or release it to a transport company. You must pick it up in person. It is being offered for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end this listing early. I encourage interested parties to arrange a time to see the bike in person before you place a bid.
