Up for sale is my 1992 Suzuki DR 650 Dual Sport/Purpose bike. This bike is in great mechanical condition. The engine has been completed rebuilt by the head mechanic at the local Suzuki dealership. No shortcuts were taken. Top and bottom end has been rebuilt with new parts wherever possible. Rebuilt parts were used IF new were not readily available. I also replaced the tires with new dual sport tires and went one step size wider. This bike runs great but, I don't get a chance to ride it much because it's been down at my lake cabin. It has less than 200 miles on the rebulit engine and the purchaser may want to continue break-in proceedures a while longer before getting on the throttle ...but that is a matter of opinion. I've been carefull not to over-rev it since the rebuild. To be honest, the only reason I"ll selling this bike is because I have others that are easier for me to ride at my age . I'm getting a little too old to kick-start this beast although it does have a compression release which makes it much easier. The plastic is white and has NO CRACKS. However, the plastic does have scratches and scrapes on most panels. They are not that noticeable unless you get close. These marks didn't bother me but, I believe you can still find the plastic because the DR650 was made for many years. I believe Suzuki still sells the same bike although I"m sure the plastic is a little different. Very little has changed on these bikes over the years. They are tried and true. The tires are also brand new and still have the little tits on them. I replaced the seat cover as well with an oftermarket seat cover which can be easliy replaced by the buyer if they choose a different design. I replaced the original in about 30 mnutes. Please check my feedback. I am a 53 year old man who takes very good care of his toys. This one was no exception. I don't sell junk. Although I can't offer a guarantee on a used bike I can assure you the information presented is correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. I'll also honestly address any questions. On Jun-05-13 at 13:12:42 PDT, seller added the following information: The folk seals DO NOT leak. No drips from the engine. Sprockets and chain in excellent condition as well. The best I recall, I went one tooth down on the front sprocket and I believe 2-3 up on the rear. No Dents or dings in the gas tank. No cracks in the plastic. This bike has approximately 12K miles on it PRIOR to the rebuild. Like I said earlier, the engine, tires, seat, battery, paint, throttle cables, clutch cables etc were added recently. The engine has less than 200 miles on it. This bike needs nothing but a rider! This is a pretty inexpensive way to basically have the same DR650 sold today for much less.
