*NO RESERVE 3 DAY AUCTION. HIGHEST BID AT THE END OF THE AUCTION WILL OWN THE JEEP!* Up for sale is my 1981 Jeep CJ5 Renegade with only 49,577 original miles. The Jeep is completely original down to the paint and decals. It has never been modded in any way and it has never been offroad. I bought this Jeep from the 2nd owner who owned it since 5000 miles. They drove it occasionally on the weekends and that was it (hence the low miles). It has always been kept in a garage and never left out in the rain to rot like most CJ's. Now onto the details: The Jeep has very minimal rust. There is a spot on each side of the floor where the roll bar mounts to the floor pan and some very small pin hole sized holes in the passenger side (see pictures). The outside of the body has no rust except for a spot on each side of the rear corners (see pictures). The frame is 100 percent solid and has no rusted through areas. All body mounts are solid also. The motor runs absolutely flawless. Even when cold starting, the 258 inline 6 cylinder fires right up without even pumping the gas! This is the smoothest running CJ i've ever heard or driven. There are no lifter ticks or knocking. It runs super cool and pulls strong. It has a new radiator, new distributor and wires, new gas lines and gas tank. There are no problems what so ever. I drive the Jeep every day. The transmission also shifts very smooth. No grinding, clicking or weird noises. The clutch is fairly new and has plenty of life left. The four wheel drive works perfect. The interior is in very presentable original condition. Not showroom condition, but a nice example of a survivor. The floors/tub have not been "Rhino lined" to cover up rust. The original paint is still there. What you see is what has been there since day one. All gauges work and are present. The heater works very well. All dash lights are working. The last owner added an aftermarket set of gas gauge and temperature gauge. The worst part of the interior is the seats. The driver seat to be more precise. It is wore out pretty good and has rips and tears. The passenger seat is in good shape. Overall, this is a very nice example of a survivor. These Jeeps are getting harder and harder to find in this condition especially with the low miles and originality. Here's your chance to own a very rare original CJ.
