Vehicle Detail
In an attempt to scale down my Lincoln collection, I'm selling my low-mileage Starmist White 1958 Continental Mark III convertible. It has the original, striking, tri-tone blue leather interior. It currently has 52,420 miles on it, which I believe to be accurate for a couple reasons: - The rear brake drums still had the original speed nuts on them from the factory when I got the car. (I saved them) - The brake pedal has very minimal wear. There are a couple dates written under the hood, which I wanted to preserve. One shows the date April 7, 1964 when the spark plugs were changed (with a mileage of 49,593) and a date of June 5, 1964 (mileage 50,493) when the brakes were changed. They had to be just the fronts, because the speed nuts would have been gone from the rear drums. There is an aftermarket Motor-Minder in place of the clock on the dash. Whomever installed this did a great job. It looks like it came with the car. A friend of mine has an old car magazine from 1955 showing this exact piece. It's supposed to help you watch your gas mileage. I haven't had time to get the car drivable, but I went through the brake system. I cleaned all the wheel cylinders, and had the Treadlevac professionally rebuilt. The brake system just needs to be finished being bled. I started filling it with silicon brake fluid. The carb needs to be rebuilt. The car started & sounded great, but I stopped it when gas started to flood out of the carb. I believe this will be a good running car when the carb is rebuilt. The previous owner removed the carpet from the car, and also replaced the hood with a black one. There is a hole in the floor behind the front seat on the passenger side & the drivers side. The larger being on the drivers side. This is fairly common in these Lincoln's with the rear Breeze-way window when the drain gets clogged. I have seen replacement floor pans on Ebay that would work perfect for this. The frame on this car is good. I know the key areas to look for on these Lincolns, and they are all good. It would be a good candidate for restoration, and it's not far from being drivable. I'd like a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the end of auction, and the remainder paid in full within 7 days. I'm not offering shipping, but I'll help load it if you send someone. I have the title. If you would like to see the car in person, or have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks!
