Vehicle Detail
This 1996 Jaguar XJS convertible is a Celebration Edition which designates it as one of the last of the cars that were built in England before Jaguar was taken over by Ford. The car has all of the power options, a multi-disk CD, and even the optional back seat. Everything on the car works and it has new tires (less than 1000 miles) and a new battery. It’s got burled walnut trim on the dash, console and a wooden steering wheel. All of the wood is in very good condition without any cracks or fading. This car has the 4.0 liter six cylinder engine and 98k miles. The power top is insulated. The trunk if fully carpeted. We have the convertible top boot as well as the storage bag for the boot. We are the second owners of the car and have owned it since 2010. It has been driven in the summer and stored in the winter. We bought the car in Florida as we always wanted an XJS. Over time we’ve refurbished the car. Most Jaguar interiors will show their age in broken down seat cushion bolsters and arm rests. The seat cushion bolsters have been updated, while preserving the original leather seats. Likewise, the arm rest has been restored with matching leather from another 1996 Jaguar. The wheels have been restored, etc. If you are interested in this car, you will get a great running car that will turn heads as it cruises down the road without a squeak or whistle. The car is not perfect. There is a small cut in the back seat and a scrape on the lower passenger side rocker panel. There are photos of each of these. The previous owner had the car resprayed the original color as the Florida sun had faded the paint. The CarFax report shows no accidents or damage reports.
