Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1978 Honda CB750 with many custom built pieces most notibly the polished aluminum hand riveted seat / tail. The rivets in the seat are not pop rivets but rather solid aluminum hand bucked rivets. The bike has a custom oil tank built and mounted near the rear tire to open up the look of the frame and also act as a mudguard. It also has dual front disk brakes, drilled rotors + a higher volume master cylinder all which drastically improves braking. Rear tire is like new and the front has quite a bit of tread also. The old points ignition system was discarded and has been replaced with a brand new electronic ignition (pamco brand). Wiring has been completely gone though and has been symplified with the addition of a more modern regulator / rectifier. The brake light is from a 1946 Ford Pickup Truck and has a steel housing and glass lense. The licence plate / brake light holder is made out of aluminum. The custom made clip-on bars can be mounted below the upper tripple for a more agressive riding position, I choose to have them over the tripple clamp as my back isn't as young as it used to be. The exhaust was shortened and wrapped. Some polished bits like the engine side cases and other things. Is kick start only which kinda adds to the cool factor, this means the starter has been removed on purpose. It does start very easy, hot or cold. Has Yamaha R6 foot controls mounted rearwards. The bike doesn't have turn signals so you will have to know how to use your hand signals. Since the pictures were taken I have painted the clip-on bars and upper tripple tree black. Clear title in hand. I get many compliments wherever I go with this bike as it seems cafe racers never go out of style. I have some spare parts that will go with the bike: Another set of forks and new fork seals, cut down front fender and whatever else I have laying around for a CB750 (I don't think I have much more but I will look). Some things that could use attention. It could stand to be re-jetted to account for the air pods on the carbs. The paint on the tank isn't the best but I kind of like it that way. As I said.. it does start very easily but it takes awhile to warm up. Bicycle speedo needs to be calibrated. A small drip of oil on the ground under the oil filter housing when parked. The front fork legs are pitted, not too bad though as they could be easily cleaned up with a bit of sanding and polishing. The bike doesn't have a speedo so I'm not sure how many miles are on it. The hump on the tail has slight heat discoloration from where the seam was welded and a very small ding in it. At times the front tire feels like it could use a rebalance. The center stand shown in a couple of the pictures has since been removed to save weight and make room for the exhaust. I believe I still have it laying here though in case you want it. Low starting price with no reserve, maybe someone will get a good deal. Please do not contact me with trade offers as I am not looking for any trades at this time. If you come to take a look I need $2000 cash in hand before anyone rides it (you wreck it you own it and if this happens the auction would end of course). I would prefer that any interested parties do make an effort to come and inspect the bike prior to purchase. Video of a walk around and the bike running here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLZ39nPsW38 TERMS Sorry to be so blunt but a minority of poor ebayers force me to these terms. SHIPPING: No shipping on this item, local pickup only. PAYMENT: I will expect full cash payment when the bike is picked up which must take place within 7 days of auction end. If payment is not received by this time I reserve the right to sell to any other interested parties. I don't mess around with non-paying bidders so immediatly upon auction end I ask that you contact me and let me know your plans for picking up the bike so I know you are going to follow through with the purchase. For this reason if you do not contact me within 24 hours of the auction end I reserve the right to sell to other interested parties. COMMUNICATION: I always reply to emails, I will not be responsible if you have a spam-blocker stopping my emails. I prefer email to communicate, I do not wish to talk to you on the phone... not that I’m hiding anything I just like using email so there can be no mistake of what information was relayed. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and know what you are bidding on before you bid. FEEDBACK: Please do not leave poor feedback for me without trying to resolve problems with me first, in other words... at least give me a chance, I’m only human. I take pride in my awesome feedback rating. I am a reasonable guy, if your request is reasonable we can surely work out any problems. On Apr-23-13 at 14:07:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I have received some questions about why I feel the bike could stand to be re-jetted. The carbs still have stock jetting and by adding pod filters the carbs should be jetted a little richer to account for the extra air now going through the engine. The only thing that is noticable while you are riding is that there is a flat spot at about 1/4 throttle between the pilot and main jets. It never bothered me so I didn't go to the trouble of rejetting but if you plan to leave it in this configuration it would probably help the bikes performance, help it warm up a little quicker and get rid of the flat spot. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.
