1948 Chevrolet ½ ton 5-window pickup. This truck has current CA registration as a 1948 and clear title in my name. This truck has been updated with a 235 Chevy 6 with hydraulic lifters, HEI ignition and fitted with a ’58-’62 power glide transmission. B&M floor shifter. This trans has the normal shift pattern of PRNDL.The drivetrain is upgraded to open (driveshaft) with a newer GM rear-end. The front brakes are power disc with a dual master cylinder and rear drum. This truck starts and drives like it should. Manual steering, but has the stock big wheel. It has a working horn, turn signals, license plate light, both tail lights and all 12V with alternator. Wipers are in place but not operational. AM/FM radio under dash. Stock radio location has a factory delete plate. Headliner is in place and it has both sun visors. Has newer stock style side mirrors. No heater. The exhaust splits under the cab and run out the rear using two pipes and two mufflers for a good sound. Exhaust looks dual from the rear. The interior has been fitted with a far more practical front bench seat from a Chevy Astro Van. The outside door handles are new and all windows and door handles function as they should. The stock seat frame is in place should one desire to convert to original. The bed has been updated with newer wood. The rear mounted fuel tank is under the bed and is filled with a gas cap in the bed. NOTE: Stock 1947-48 Chevy trucks did not have a behind the seat gas tank. That was started in ’49 and never trucks. All the bumpers and grill have good chrome. The truck is painted blue and has had some touch up here and there. It has 1948 correct emblems. I also have a set of wood bed stakes to add custom signs/logo that will go with the truck. No rust that I can see in normal spots. It is a 1948 and it’s not being sold as a restoration.
