For Sale is a collectible '71 Volkswagen Campmobile Pop-Top Westy. Overall, the condition is nice and clean. I purchased this bus from the original owner. It features the factory red color. However, the repaint is old, and it shows chips and some scratches in the finish. There are common paint bubbles in the corners at the bottom of the door and rear fender well - driver side. There have been no accidents. Mechanically, it features: a recent rebuilt motor, less than 10K miles ago, plus an xlnt gear box, that shifts the way it's supposed to - no excuses. Valves were just adjusted. Motor starts instantly and idles smoothly. I just came back from a 200+ mile roadtrip and the Westy ran great. It also has brand new tires and brakes. The pop-top tent was recently replaced. Camper features a wood floor, bed, table, and curtains. I also have the Owner's Manual, which will be included with the sale. The 1971 model year is rare and sought after in VW circles. It was the last for the traditional, easy to work on, "stand up" engine, as opposed to the more complicated "pancake" motor of later years. '71 also was the first for disc brakes on a bus, and the final year for the small tail-lights. Even more collectible to VW aficionados are the Westfalia, Campmobile, "pop-tops" like the example offered here. This bus carries its original California Blue license plates.
