Vehicle Detail

All original, unmolested bike in amazing condition for it's age. Look closely at the pictures, it has never been changed or modified, except for the seat cover and the heat shield. Even the tires are original, although they are cracking and dried out. The bolts, screws, etc. are unmarred, most look like they haven't been touched since it left the factory. Many years ago the former owner changed the seat cover with an earlier non-perforated kind, but the pan and foam are original and still in nice shape. The exhaust pipes and mufflers are all original. There is a hole from rust that formed in the lower muffler. The only real flaw on the whole bike is the rear of the back fender has a crack in it (see pic) under where the license goes. There are do dents, damage or repairs anywhere else that I can see, even the chainguard is nice and straight! The paint is faded and there are minor marks and scratches. The chrome is faded in spots but still nice and rust free EXCEPT for the wheels. The rims have some blackish corrosion (I guess) from rust, particularly the front rim. The rubber fork covers were falling apart from age so I cut them off. I replaced the heat shield when I got the bike with an n.o.s. guard that I got from Baxter Cycle. I may have replaced a mounting screw too; I can't remember, it was a long time ago. I've owned this bike for about 25 years, and my first Triumph. I bought it from the second owner who lived in Michigan. He owned it for several years also. We had to carry it out of his basement where he stored it. He told me that when not riding the bike he always stored it properly, and periodically put marine fogging oil in the plug holes. Ever since then I have done the same thing on all my bikes. Works great. I bought it with the idea of eventually restoring it. I bought parts while I rode it summers, and in fact I have an n.o.s gas tank, wiring harness, pipes, and some other items that I have been saving. They will be available after this sells. In my opinion the '69 650 twins were the best of the unit twin bikes, and this is a very hard to find model. I have not seen another like it. It ran great every year, but after a few years other bikes came into the herd. After a while it seemed a shame to restore it so except for rebuilding the carb and updating the tickler ( and oil changes) I left it just as I got it. Even after I retired it I have always ridden it for 20-50 miles every year except for the last two years. The carb is starting to wear out again but otherwise it needs gas and a battery and it is ready to go. I hate to see it go but I have too many bikes and I lost my storage. This is a 44 year old motorcycle, no guarantees or warranties expressed or implied. Buyer must arrange and pay for shipping. I will assist as much as I can but it is the responsibility of the buyer. Bike and title do not leave until I have cleared payment. Should you have any questions or need more pics feel free to ask, but do so BEFORE bidding. Thanks for looking!!On Apr-07-13 at 05:20:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Two people have asked this so I thought I should make this more clear; the parts I mentioned that I have are NOT included in this sale You get is the motorcycle complete as shown, the keys and a clear title. As mentioned I have other parts which I will sell separately after this bike is sold. Originally my plans were to restore this bike so I bought parts years ago to do that. They are NOT original to this bike. Thanks.
