We have sold nearly 50 Volvos in the last year, and this particular XC70 is very special. It's optioned very very well and is in just spectacular condition. The 2003 model is the first year of many improvments made by volvo to increase reliability and performance. In 2003 they began using the second generation haldex all wheel drive system which is more reliable and also performs better. They also revised the transmissions to be more reliable and smoother shifting. 2003 is also the first year for the more powerful 2.5 litre 5 Cylinder turbocharged engine. The interiors of Volvos are spectacular. The arena tan leather seats have beautiful pronounced XC style stitching, and are in excellent shape, as are the dash and the carpets. The dash and carpets are "oak" in color. The car has Volvo's Dual Zone automatic climate control which works properly. This car has Volvo's Premium Alpine audio with CD Player and Cassette. It works and sounds awesome (actually one of the best sounding car stereos of its era). For safety, this Volvo has, of course, dual front airbags, as well as SIPS side airbags. It also has Volvo's IC Inflatable Curtain airbags as well as WHIPS whiplash protection to keep you safe in the event of a rear-end collision. This car also has a steel accessory cargo/pet partition in the rear which retracts up into the ceiling when not in use. The rear seats fold flat in 3 sections, and the front passenger seat folds down as well. The outside of this Cross Country is beautiful and is finished in the stunning and very popular Nautic Blue color. The paint is in good shape, with no major defects. The car has matching rugged unpainted blue bumpers and side trim. It has the touring package as well which features rear privacy glass and a host of other upgrades. Some of these upgrades include a rear cargo cover, and the interior air quality system or IAQS. This system uses an air quality sensor to monitor the air coming from outside of the car, and closes the fresh air vents if an odor or toxin is detected. It then recirculates the interior air until the outside air is once again safe. This all functions automatically. With IAQS, the car also features an activated charcoal cabin air filtration system which cuts down on polin, other alergens, and odors from reaching the car's occupants. In the pictures, you will notice that the rear window wiper is missing. This has since been replaced. The tires are in nearly-new condition and are the matching Goodyear Assurance tires. The brakes are in very good shape with solid stops and no pulsation. The front brakes have been upgraded to performance slotted type brakes. The transmission feels perfect. All accessories have been tested and work. Including heated seats, air conditioning, and cruise control. The original owner of the car also added a performance stainless steel exhaust system made by OBX which sounds very nice without being loud, looks great, and allows the turbocharged engine to breathe more easily. The retail price on this exhaust system alone is about $600. This adds a little more power and allows the engine to run more efficiently. Of course, the timing belt service has been completed.
