Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. I've owned this car for 3 years and it has been one of the best cars I've ever owned. The only reason i'm selling it is I just was issued a company car and there's no room in the garage. Car was bought used in 2010 with 144,000 miles. Shortly after purchase the 01M automatic transmission began acting up. I decided to convert the car to manual transmission. I sourced the transmission, axles, shift linkage, clutch pedal assembly, master cylinder ,etc from a local auto salvage. I installed a Sachs clutch and single mass flywheel at that same time. Car has been great ever since, transmission shifts great, clutch has tons of life left. If you read alot about TDI's you'll know the automatics in these year cars are known to have problems. The manual transmission also bumps the fuel mileage. The check engine light will always be on as the transmission computer for the automatic is unplugged under the front valance. The single mass flywheel is a little louder at idle than the dual mass flywheel that VW orignally used. Once your driving under the load there is no noticeable noise difference. Driving for work I normally get between 43-46 mpg. Thats mixed highway driving. I put a new water pump, timing belt, idlers, and tensioner in at 211,000. Alternator was replaced at roughly 185,000. Front brakes and rear brakes were done at 185,000 as well. I checked the glow plugs before winter and they were all good. Cars starts up every time, dead cold no issued. The car is in good overall shape. Its got some rock chips on the hood and one little spot of rust on the right front fender. Underneath is super clean , no rust. Tires are newer with 50% tread life. Interior is in good shape, no tears or holes. There's a couple of smudges on the head lines and the glove box is faded. Typical VW stuff. Air bag light was on the day I bought the car, still is. Rotella T6 synthetic oil always used. Fuel filter changed every 30k. On Apr-03-13 at 04:45:00 PDT, seller added the following information:Just found out I will be traveling for work next week. I will return sometime on April 14th, at that time the car can be picked up. If this creates an issue please let me know and I will try to setup other arrangements. I apologize for the inconvience.
