Vehicle Detail

This is a very nice and original, one owner 1970 Honda CT70H Mini Trail bike, It was produced 5/70 as indicated on the head tube. The bike was originally purchased new for my friends wife to be used at their vacation home. It has spent all of its life stored indoors. When I acquired the bike, it had been stored and unused since the late 1970's.It has its original title, owners manual, keys, tool kit. The bike has its original license plate with 1978 registration tab. The wife indicated to me that they just kept the tabs current up to that point, but may not have used the bike for a few years before 1978.
The bike had been stored with the fuel drained and battery removed. In the process of getting it running again, I used NO aftermarket parts, Only NOS or new factory Honda~ I pulled the head off and checked the cylinder before attempting to start it. At that time I decided to just do a light hone since it was apart. The carburetor was ultrasonically cleaned and I installed a Honda rebuild kit. New plug, Honda points and condenser, battery etc.., I replaced the fork boots with new Honda ones, exhaust guard is NOS, The tires are original, the headlight bucket is cracked, but I have a replacement, I think the headlight ring has a small ding in it as well. The original exhaust pipe had rusted a bit where the clamp is, so I purchased a new correct exhaust from Honda. The seat pan had a crack, so I had the local Honda dealer track a factory seat down that Honda actually still had. So, it is a real Honda seat, not aftermarket. Unfortunately, over the years I have had the bike stored in the basement, the cat decided to use it as a scratching post, so the cover needs to be replaced.
It starts on the first or second kick and that little engine is amazingly quiet! Clutch works fine and it shifts through all the gears smoothly. It may need some adjusting/tuning now as it has been stored for several years since I did all the work.
The bike has zero rust- Most if not all of the original bolts and hardware still retain the factory finish. The paint is original and looks really nice, fenders and chrome are equally as nice. The front fender has a very slight bend in the lip, but easily fixed. One of the side decals looks to be de-laminating or something, There is a small amount of surface rust on the wheels.. should also be an easy clean up/fix. .. can't think of much else of the top of my head. Everything works, high beam, horn, all lights, speedo etc. The original handle bars are nice a straight with no visible damage. Even the original chain on the bike looks brand new. Amazing little time capsule Honda!
All this being said; it is 43 years old and is not "restored" or perfect! There are some scratches etc as one would expect..Please feel free to ask any question!! :)Shipping and all arraignments are the buyers responsibility, however I am happy to assist. I require a deposit within 24 hours of the auction end either though Paypal or other agreeable arrangement (wire transfer/cashier check from a major bank etc).. On Apr-04-13 at 08:19:57 PDT, seller added the following information: 4/4/13~ I did a bit of web research and found the follwing: CT70HKO: Built From: MAY 1970 (5/70) to AUG 1971 (8/71) Produced: 65,000. So, this suggests that Honda production for the CT70H models (4 speed clutch) began in May of 1970. My bike shows a production date of 5/70. That would make it a first series, very early production clutch model.
