1997 Honda Valkyrie

This beautiful Valkyrie gets comments and stares everywhere I take it. I would love to keep it except at my age, the sheer power of the bike scares me and I think I need something like a 3-wheeler. I recently retired and had wanted a Valkyrie for about 20 years and I finely got the chance to own one. It's everything I thought it would be and I literally love this motorcycle - this is my dream bike. When I purchased this motorcycle made in December, 2012, I looked at a lot of Valkyries and didn't find another one like this - I drove around to several southern states looking at other Valkyries and test drove several of them but nothing else was even close to this one no matter how good they looked in the pictures. It was obvious that this one had been taken care of and was loved by the man that owned it. It was always garaged and his friend who was a Honda dealer took care of the maintenance on the bike. However, I'm now 64 years old and I've come to the sad conclusion that I need something with less raw power and more stability (either a 3-wheeler or maybe a Can-am). This motorcycle is always garaged when not being rode. This beauty can cruise all day at 70 on the highway. It had 24,000 miles when I bought it and I've enjoyed putting 4,000 miles on it. Everything on this bike is in excellent condition. Extras include the expensive Mustang seat for the rider and passenger and matching Mustang saddle bags, a 17" Memphis Shades windshield, extra chrome and lights. There is a brand new Avon tire on the front and the back tire is also an Avon tire and is in good shape. I found many recommendations on the internet for the superb handling of the Valkyrie when it has these Avon tires. The bike gets 37 to 40 mpg. There is also a $1,000 intercom system. I'm an retired aircraft mechanic/inspector and I was very picky when selecting this particular bike and can tell you that it is very solid and in superb condition. On Apr-03-13 at 08:48:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Corrections: in the above comments, it should say when I purchased this motorcycle back in December, 2012 and where it says I wanted a Valkyrie for 20 years, I should have said a Goldwing or a Valkyrie for 20 years - 1997 was the first year for the Valkyrie. I've been told the 1997 is a little more powerful than later models.
