Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 2001 Volvo V70xc. The engine is currently running very good and is drivable to an extent and for short distances. The problem with the car is that it is having problems with the transmission and more specifically, the torque converter. The repair is too much for me to take on right now. It’s a repair that is a couple thousand dollars and fixing it myself is mechanically way out of my league. I’ll be as up front and clear on the description of the car as possible. If you have any questions at all please let me know or I can put you in contact with the transmission shop that has the car right now. They can clearly explain the problem better than I can. The car has a salvage title due to cosmetic damage that was done back when the car was about a year old. I bought it in 2005 as the second owner with the salvage title. Had the car inspected and it checked out and has been an excellent car ever since. I’ve had to put very little into it overall because I’m a car enthusiast, and have babied the car ever since it was new. It’s truly a heart breaker for our family to let the car go under these circumstances because I’ve been babying the car for so long because it really is the best car for a family, especially who needs it for the space and the ability it has for driving in snow. It drives like a dream and the engine pulls very strong due to the strong turbo and the fact that it was my wife’s daily driver for 6 years and she drives like a grandma. It’s never been driven hard. This car never saw snow or bad conditions until Oct 2008 until we moved Wyoming. The remainder of its life was in Southern California. For the 1st 3 years I was having Castrol Blend put in it about every 3,000 miles. Since then I’ve been doing Mobil 1 about every 6,000 miles with a new filter each time. It’s as loaded as they came in that year. Some of the uncommon features include: Winter package (heated seats, head light wipers, winter driving mode) -Dolby surround sound package -Middle row integrated booster seats (a must for kids) -Rear third row with 2 seat belts -Moon roof The car has 130,000 miles (in the past 8 years since I bought it we put about 80k) New or newer equipment replaced include (I have receipts for EVERYTHING): - New tires 129,000 miles - Volvo OEM spark plugs and ignition coils June 2011 (110,000) - New Volvo OEM front struts November 2011 - New thermostat at 119,000 miles - Volvo OEM timing belt, tensioners, and water pump at 102,000 miles - New Volvo OEM moon roof at 124,000 miles - New Volvo OEM tail lights at 122,000 miles - New Volvo OEM climate control module at 98,000 miles (very, very expensive part) - Transmission fluid changed at 102,000 with ATF fluid. I still have 6 more quarts that I’ll include in the sale. Some parts that do need to be replaced soon include: - Front rotors and pads (don’t squeak, but are wearing down) - Rear hatch locking mechanism (works, but not all the time) - Driver’s side window regulator (works, but the wire harness is bad) - Driver’s side seat heater and motor work but only if you put a new fuse in every few months. Cosmetically, the car is an 8 out of 10. Maybe even a 9 out of 10 but there are some door dings on both rear doors. Many people think this car is an 06-07 or newer and can’t believe that it’s 12 years old. Non-Volvo enthusiasts actually think it’s newer than that since they don’t know the body style or generation changes. The interior has been oiled with leather conditioner every 3-4 months, all weather floor mats, etc. There are no wear marks on the soft touch surfaces that most cars this age have from people dinging things and making little nicks and scratches. I had a paintless dent removal take 3 dents out 2 years ago and was planning on getting these small dings removed as well this summer. You’d be very hard to find a cleaner Volvo from this year. Paint still looks new because I wax and clay bar it every 6 months so all panels are in great shape. There are signs of oxidation or rust. The dash board has no signs of wear whatsoever. No cracks, scratches, fading, etc. It has never been smoked in either. The wheels are in perfect condition with no curb rash or scrapes or buildup from break dust- it does have new tires with more than 90% left on them. I have the luggage cover that rolls out over the rear hatch as well as the dog/luggage net. I have the original two keys and one keyless entry remote. Many of these parts and replacements listed were bought from IPD of Portland which are the renowned Volvo specialists. I have a profile with them of parts purchased as well as all receipts and even tire rotations. The vehicle is currently located in Denver Colorado and is very dirty! I drove it in the snow just before dropping it off to the shop so the outside is very dirty and rather embarrassing. Like I said, it is drivable, but only for short distances. Any questions please let me know. the rack rails and mounts are not included. sorry, i need it to put on our van. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
