Vehicle Detail

If you are like me, you can't afford a new workhorse....which is most likely why you are looking at this ad. GREAT! Time to save BIG BUCKS! One owner village owned unit. Sorry...I don't know from where as I haven't put my eyes on the specs. If you need to ask a question or anything else that isn't answered here, before auction ends, my number is at the bottom. I know, I know. The truck is hideous. 3 different colors. Definitely has seen better days. But wait....no major rust?? Newer replacement front fenders? And...DOORS!?! Yes. The hood is super straight. Just patchy touchups. Amazingly even the overall condition of the cab is decent. Yes there is some rust and holes, but for it's age? Hardly any. Someone spent some money trying to rehab this truck, just never finished. YOUR GAIN! NO RESERVE!! I snapped a shot of the underside. It's a bit of a leaker(the whitish stuff is splash from my muddy driveway)...but a long-term leaker, as-in valve cover here and trans cooler hose there. In fact, the engine oil is super clean. But the light oil drip has made quite a mess (note the thicker dried up areas and it drips a bit on the exhaust - not a smokescreen). She's got some age and is used but far from old! Button up a few leaks with some hoseclamps. Degrease with a power washer. Invite a friend over on the weekend with a 12 pack and knock out some gaskets! As you can see, the 10 foot box is in primer still, like the body panels. It can't be but a few years old. How do I know the ENTIRE DUMP SYSTEM has been replaced?? The old system ran off a PTO or similar (see interior pic with big red knob under dash) that is no longer hooked up. In place is a HUGE bed lift/ram, and fluid storage tank and pumps, both inside the cab behind the seat and outside under the bed. The unit works perfectly with a push of a button in either direction. No squirts. No stalls. No skips. Smooth and quiet power. Bed floor has minimal dents and no visible holes. Even has newer rear mudflaps required by state law. I don't know what a dumper setup costs, but I'm sure it's in the $1000s! This truck is worth hundreds in steel scrap($400+ a ton now)! This truck is also NO RESERVE! The rear trailer hitch setup is monstrous as well. Overkill welded box framing can pull down a bridge if needed. All the exterior lighting works as needed altho I don't see any trailer plugs present. Easy to wire in your needs. Tires are covered in mud but all have decent tread sporting 50% or more treadlife left. Altho ugly, the rims are straight and vibration free, even at 65mph. Note the newer cat converter and exhaust. Not perfect, but quiet. Note the aftermarket WARN Wheel Hub Lock installed. They work perfectly. Interior is plenty worn and needs a seat bad. BOTH sides are missing the cushioning but believe it or not, besides the uneveness, the truck rides pretty smooth. I easily get uncomfortable but I drove nearly 50 miles this way and no complaints. Obviously the interior needs a good detail. The seller just acquired it and I saved it from going to the auction, so PLAN ACCORDINGLY if you win the truck. It's still an option next week. Below you can see the mileage is reasonable. Clean Autocheck shows last reporting at about 103k so this 5 digit Odometer has rolled once. Alternator charges perfectly. Truck doesn't overheat yet heats up the interior nicely especially on this cold day. Oil pressure gauge is NOT accurate, it just sits there no matter. Fuel gauge works. Even tho there are front and rear fuel tanks, it seems only the front works. Windows roll up and down. Again, all exterior lighting works as do the wipers and turn signals. Below you can see the radio trim panel is missing. It has a custom "pull out" radio....you can pull it out whenever you want!! Yes...it works as well! Picks up every channel I tried. Nice little bolt bin is included in the ashtray area. Sweet bungee spring keeps the glovebox closed. I should have charged extra for that....but for you...I'll throw it in!! LOL! There is also, if you didn't notice, a plow joystick. Outside a few brackets, this is all that is left of a plow setup. Can probably sell this or wire it up to a future setup. Frame rails and mounts aren't all rusted out. A bit of fluid/dirt buildup...but what dump truck doesn't? Easily cleanable. Everything moves as the day it was new on the dump assembly. As stated before....a few oil leaks, but nothing to leave you stranded. Interstate battery is STRONG and starts the engine easily. Big Block Ford 7.5 liter 460 Engine fires right up and runs smoothly. Doesn't feel like it needs one, but I would throw a tune up at it, for records purposes. It's still Very powerful and throttle responsive. Clearly the engine compartment also needs a good cleaning. Nearly new radiator keeps the temps at bay. Transmission shifts perfectly in all gears. ONE THING I have to complain about (NO RESERVE REMEMBER??)...being as it has a straight front axle, the truck suffers from the Death Shake at about 30mph. Towing trucks get this regularly. Most likely a bad balljoint or 2. It scared the heck outta me. But...once I figured out the speeds to avoid (accelerate quickly to get above 35mph, and slow a little faster than normal to keep speed below 30) the truck didn't show it's problem. The truck drives nearly straight as an arrow at all speeds even when I was at 65mph! For the 50 miles back to my shop, I never got the Death Rattle again! So....it's going to need some front end parts or a steering stabilizer to cure it. Many Fords do it, so it's a very common thing once some slop is present. Did I mention the NO RESERVE? Keep in mind the straight front axle is worth big bucks in the 4x4 world. Oh....and while I was driving the truck...SMOOTH. No vibrations (outside the temporary one). Cab noise was minimal. The truck wasn't blowing all over the road in or out of the wind. Seriously...smooth. Brakes feel good. Stop easily with no pulsing. Trans shifted everytime easily. No wheelbearing/rearend noise or whine. No front drivetrain noise. Even the 4 wheel drive works great!! I know because I thought the Death Shake was an unbalanced front driveshaft. Nope. Lock the hubs. Put it in 4wd and go!! No noises, popping or squeaking. The truck is ready to use as it sits, once you figure out the driving technique as I did. Easy. Then throw a few bucks at it to "button it up" for your crew to get to work! BID, BUY, and DRIVE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! Inspect my excellent feedbacks. Get ready to work for NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 185k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. My best friend is on his 5th from me. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric. Also, understand that I have the right to end the auction early due to local sale. I STILL REQUIRE a $500 deposit to be made within 24hours. Use Paypal for the deposit please. Of course I understand each bidder/buyer has different payment needs (like using Bill Me Later or Credit Cards) and I will assist when possible. Sorry....no financing is available on this transaction. Please secure your own from you bank of choice BEFORE bidding. Remember....24 hours $500 deposit due....3 days for payment in FULL. Naturally I will assist in ANY shipping needs! Thank you for your interest on this NO RESERVE auction! GOOD LUCK! Venue of sale is Kendall County, Illinois. ALL BUYERS are responsible for $99 DOC fee. ALL ILLINOIS BUYERS responsible for 6.25% sales tax, $101 License Plate fee (or $30 current valid plate transfer fee), $95 Title fee. ALL COOK COUNTY (Chicago area) BUYERS responsible for 8.25% sales tax. There are about 8 other states that I (unfortunately) have to collect tax....but it's usually at a discount vs. regular in state. Vehicle is sold AS-IS/AS-SHOWN with no warranty expressed or implied. Please follow deposit and payment instructions posted. Cash in person is preferred payment. After full payment is made, you will receive vehicle (as shown/stated in this ad), title, associated paperwork and key(s). Please email or call regarding out of state pickup at local train station (Union Station-Joliet, IL) or closest airport (Midway-Chicago-MDW). I will happily assist in pickup for a fee to cover my time and fuel costs.
