2002 bmw r1150rtp, this is a CHP edition bike. The pictures with the rear seat converted are the most recent. The police radio box as shown in the picture will also come with the bike. Tires are brand new, and the brakes are at 50-60%. The bike was JUST registered, so it expires in March of 2014. Valves were just adjusted and the throttle bodies were synced. The viewing glass for the oil level was just changed, and the brakes were flushed. Other than that the bike looks great and ran great until the recent mishap. After deciding to update the left cam chain tensioner to a stronger redesigned tensioner bolt, I started the bike and heard a racket. I quickly turned off the bike and pulled everything apart. The bottom of the cam chain tensioner bolt had fallen into the timing chain area of the engine. This is most likely to a broken timing chain rail guide. I don't have the desire to fix it as I was already trying to sell the bike. So my loss is your gain! The tires and the seat conversion alone will pay for the bike. This bike will make a great parts bike or a great project. Buyer is responsible for pickup. It has a lot of miles at 124,000, but I've gotten compliments on how good and clean the bike is, especially for an RT-P. I bought the bike with 104,000 miles and have used it primarily for commuting, and the bike hadn't given me any problems until now. It also doesn't seem to exhibit the throttle surge that tends to plague the single spark versions of this engine. There are a couple small scratches on the bike that were on it when I got it. One is on the side view mirror, and another on the front fender, but not a dropping kind of scratch. The bike is also being sold locally, so if it sells before there are bidders I reserve the right to end the auction.
