E-MAILS WILL BE ANSWERED IN A TIMELY MANNER, BUT IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION THAT CAN'T WAIT, CALL MY CELL @ (217) 779-9151 AND ASK FOR KEVIN A QUICK LOOK AT THE CAR: - 1970 Camaro, true SS car Originally a real L78 car (396/375HP / 4 speed) - Rarest of the 2nd generation Camaros with only 600 made - Nice solid car underneath where it really counts - Nice solid straight body - Rear sub-frame has NOT been narrowed - Has a backseat - Paint isn't perfect, but it's VERY SHARP - Dakota digital dash gauges - All lights / signals work - 4 wheel disc brakes - Hurst Pistol Grip shifter - Well built pump gas friendly and streetable 496cu in Big Block - Race prepped Powerglide with a TCI torque convertor - Dana 60 rearend with 4:56 gears - Have a blast with it now "AS-IS"......Later sell it for a profit !! - You can't ever go wrong investing in a SOLID & QUALITY car or a RARE car. This car started out life as a VERY RARE L78 car, which means it was powered by the 375HP 396. Of all the 70 Camaros made that year only 600 had this option, and of those I'd assume a large number fell off the face of the earth after their racing career was over! This car is now a great street car and is powered by a VERY HEALTHY pump gas 496. The motor is backed by a competition prepped Powerglide and a TCI 4500RPM convertor. The rearend is a good old DANA 60 with 4:56 gears in it. The car was built to cruise and has a large aluminum radiator and a full set of Dakota digital gauges set up to work with the factory dash. The car has working headlights / brake lights / turn signals / taillights. This car like a lot of L78's was raced at one time as evidenced by some remnants of a removed rollcage, and was on it's way to being narrowed and turned back into a race car when the owner realized that it was an L78 car and decided not to cut the factory rear sub-frame. It would be some work to do, but this car could be un-done and turned back to factory if you so desire.....BUT the way I look at it is......This is a great buy on a VERY SHARP and VERY SOLID '70 Camaro....It's just icing on the cake that if you own it long enough it will probably be worth than your 401K!!! Let's get to the nuts and bolts of the car. The motor is 496cu in and has an Eagle rotating assembly with JE SRP forged 10.2:1 pistons / Dart Iron Eagle heads / Comp Cams 292 solid lifter cam / 2-1/8" tube headers breathing through a 3" exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. The cars fuel system is braided stainless steel lines being fed by a Barry Grant BG400 fuel pump. The transmission is a race-prepped Powerglide with a TCI convertor. The rear end is a DANA 60 spinning M/T 12.50 ET STREET tires. Please note that this car was not built to be a show car...It's not perfect and the paint has some chips here and there, but I have yet to have anyone walk up to this car whose first reaction wasn't DAMN THAT'S SHARP.....WHAT COLOR IS THAT!!!! The interior is decent and features comfy race style buckets that recline and flip forward for back seat entrance. The headliner is there, but needs replaced. LONG STORY SHORT.....I feel this car is a bargain at my BUY-IT-NOW price....BUT make me an offer and get yourself an even better deal!!!!! LOOK THE PICTURES OVER CAREFULLY, THEY PRETTY MUCH TELL THE STORY. ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER TO AVOID MISUNDERSTANDINGS LATER. CAR IS LOCATED IN PAYSON, ILLINOIS (ZIP CODE 62360) THIS IS THE WEST-CENTRAL PART OF THE STATE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANYTIME IF THE CAR SELLS OUTSIDE OF EBAY THE FINE PRINT: If you pick up the car in person the only payment method is CASH Payment: Cashier's check or wire transfer...In advance of the car being picked up If you have the car shipped to you, it doesn't leave my property until the check has cleared my bank....This can take 3-10 business days depending on the banks involved.
