Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is this 1955 Packard 400 2 door hardtop. She was repainted jade metallic sometime in the 1980’s but was originally painted charcoal and moonstone. She is equipped with power windows, power seat, heater, Ultramatic transmission and signal seeking radio. The car is a good project and was a daily driver from 1955 until 2006 which is a true testament to Packard’s build quality. We purchased the car from the estate of the original owner where it was barn stored from 2006 until last year. We have not tried to start the car but the motor turns freely by hand and she rolls and steers well. The brakes, tires and torsion level suspension will need some work before the car can be driven safely on the street. She will need rust repair in the floor pans, trunk pan and drivers lower quarter and there is some rust in the brows over the headlights. There is a crack in the windshield and some of the side glass is delaminating from age. The rear window is very good. The car is largely complete, but she is missing her hood ornament, a hubcap and a few odd pieces of trim. This 400 deserves a true Packard enthusiast to return her to her former glory and after fifty plus years of loyal service I’d say she’s earned it. Unfortunately I simply don’t have the time or resources to do her justice. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION-Thanks and good luck This car will be sold on a Bill of Sale as Alabama does not title any car built prior to 1975. If you live in a title state, you will need the services of a title company at your own expense. This car is sold as is where is, and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. A $300.00 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment is due within 3 days. Buyer will have 30 days to remove the vehicle. I realize arranging shipping can be difficult and may take longer, communication is key.
