1961 DKW Audi Auto Union 1000 Universal 3 Door Station wagon, suicide doors, 3 cylinder, 2 stoke, 4 speed on the column, front wheel drive (original), very rare car, in original paint, interior redone as close as possible to the original, the car runs and drives great, a little cold blooded, which is typical but warms right up brakes might need some work in the future, overall good body and patina with some typical scratches and minor imperfections which could shine up, i acquired the vehicle a few years ago from a gentleman in Whitewood South Dakota, who bought a house from another elderly couples estate and the car was in the garage. which he got with the deal, he owned it for only a short time before he sold it to me. Solid old original car. For people who are not familiar with DKW, DKW was part of the auto Union in the 1930's. The Auto Union was an Conglomerate of four German automobile manufacturers, founded in 1932 and established in 1936 in Chemnitz, Saxony, during the Great Depression. The company has evolved into present day Audi. The Four companies in the auto union were Audi, DKW, Horch, and Wanderer.
