The restoration started in 2010 and it lasted more than 2 years totaling over $30,000.00 (Paint, rechrome,Mechanical and interior) to make it in my opinion an exquisite pleasure to drive or ride in it :). It is the feeling you get when you are driving one of this great cars down in an open road somewhere that makes me buy them and restore them to perfection or at least I am trying :). I bought this car in 2010 and one of the things I like about this and all E-Type is the details, the elegant wood steering wheel, sporty aircraft-style flip switches on the dash console and a stylish interior of the black leather. More about the car: My girfriend is a extremely well-documented Included is a complete tool kit, jack with cover, hammers, owner’s manuals and the metal warranty card with the first owner’s information! The second owner held her in captivity since 1974-2010. I have the letter from the first owner transfering her to the second owner. Therefore, I can prove for sure that I am the third owner for this 44 year old lady. This car is register at the Jaguar Daimler Heritage and at the XKE registry. This E-Type will surely provide its next owner wonderful afternoons at a JCNA events or the pure driving pleasure that has become synonymous with Coventry's most famous sports car. Its mechanical condition is no less impressive, the car performs admirably and doesnt have any overheating issues. My girfriend can be driven to the west coast without any mechanical issues but it will be a shame, she is too good looking to do that :). Displaying an original Phillips radio and matching black rubber floor mats. The tires are brand new and they are Kummo asymmetrical radial tires, specific to the period, are mounted on correctly sized Jaguar spoked wheels. The car has always been stored in a garage and covered with a jaguar cover that will also come with the car. Professionally appraised at $73,200.00. This appraisal is consistent with the 2012 Hagerty Price Guide which values Series 2 Roadsters at $90,000.00. Finished in the gorgeous and rare color combination of Regency Red over An original Black Leather interior along with its Black Cabriolet Top, this Jag is a showpiece all the way! The body is rust free, dent free, laser straight, and flawlessly refinished in its original Regency Red color. The gorgeous chrome Dayton knock-off wire wheels are brand new and are wearing new Kummos White-Line tires. The drive in this car is just as wonderful as it's looks. The engine starts effortlessly and comes to idle very quickly, the clutch feels perfect and she shifts into gear flawlessly. Down the road she goes without a care in the world as this is easily as much driving fun as you can have with your clothes on and still be legal! The double overhead cam 4.2L engine purrs like a kitten and pulls as strong as day one. The steering, handling, and braking are all excellent and the car literally inspires confidence when driving hard and she begs for more. This is a high quality E-Type that will interest even the most discriminating collector. I would say that for this vintage this is possibly one of the finest Jaguars that you will ever lay your eyes on. As this is also an incredible investment in the classic car market, there will be no disappointments with this Series-II XKE, and you can buy with confidence! The car was a good clean car to start with but just wanted to make it extra special and enjoy the project achieving this: New 4 Kummo tires with white line wall ($450) New Soft top ($350 top + $200 gaskets + $140 wood frame + $1,100 installation) New brake lines New Rotors New Clutch (This is a very expensive job b/c you need to remove the engine and transmission out of the car) New Brake Cylinder master New calipers New rechrome and 6 brand new pieces knock off dayton wheels and windshield bezzels New front bumper, rear bumper, door, trunk, hood, soft top, headlights, taillights, turn signals seals/gaskets New hoses New gas pump New Choke cables New front stabilizers for handeling better New stainless steel Exhaust system Full service done in February 2013 (oil, oil filter, air filter, two gasoline filters belts, all new fluids, spark plugs) NEW 4 Shocks ($600.00 labor and materials) NEW AXLE SHAFT and SEALS (Pair at $270 + $20 for seals + $1000 labor) New head rest pads New transmission seals and gaskets New fluids (coolant, brakes, oil, cluch, transmission) New filters New paint Over $30,000.00 spent in Mechanical, chrome and paint restauration in the last two years with all receipts upon request. BE SMART BUYER AND DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU DONT SEE. This is a completed orginal "all together" JAGUAR ETYPE SERIES 2 ROADSTER which can simply be purchased and enjoyed. This is not the average Etype. I have spent money and time to make it one of the best etype for sale which makes for a perfect high standard weekend driver. These cars are going up in value. Restoring these can be expensive so this one makes for great buying considering everything has been done. This car has been appraised for $73,200.00 and is insured by Hagerty for this amount and also is listed in their price guide value for more than this amount. Our reserve is very low compare to the real value of this car. Good luck with bidding on it. ~~VIN # 1R11686~~ PICTURES DURING RESTORATION The car was taken to automotive international to Rebuilt both carburators, instalation of a new black soft top, instalation of chrome bumpers, new ignition system, chocking cables, cleaning gas tank, cleaning all filters and removal of all fluids, new gas pump, new master cylinder brake and some little things to make it a very nice driver. Cleaning the tank and replacing the gas filter. Rebuilding the carburators Replacing all the fluids, brake, transmission, oil. Yes! She is wet but they had to test drive her New black soft top CHROMING PROCESS 43 pieces of chrome were removed from the car to be replated. PAINT WORK Engine and transmission was removed for better painting results Hand Striping almost done removing the old paint of the entire car Priming New paint Leather seats and carpet was in very poor condition Final work! coming out of the oven Mirror finish Straight lines driver and passenger sides Straight lines driver and passenger sides MECHANNICAL WORK SECTION Gerald Master Jaguar Mechannic completed the clutch and transmission BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES OF THE TRANSMISSION OUT CLEAN AND REFRESH FLYING WHEEL AND CLUTCH WERE REPLACE Transmission out of the car ~~VIN # 1R11686~~ .
