Vehicle Detail
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. This car was 100% frame off restored to factory specifications and has been judged as such by the Antique Automobile Club of America. It first won a junior at an AACA regional event in Maryland in 1990. Followed by the AACA senior award later that year at Hershey PA. Lastly the car was trailer to Ohio in 1992 for the grand national judging where it won the first time out. Since 1992 the car has been back to Hershey where it won in the preservation class (maintaining grand national level) six times, the most recently of which was 2011. The first photo is of the car on the show field in October of 2011 and it looks as good today as the day it was completed. I have all the awards, plaque and badges which are included with the sale. This car was exclusively transported in enclosed car carrier for the first 15 years after restoration. The previous owner only started driving it to shows in 2005 and the car has only logged 5200 miles since that point. I store it in a climate controlled garage (pictured) to preserve the concourse level of restoration. This is one of the most highly awarded Bel Air's in the country and will only continue to go up in value. The car was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal and restored back to 100% original condition. I have several photos documenting the restoration as well as a certified appraisal when it was completed from 1990 stating the car was the "best restoration" the appraiser had ever seen in over 20 years of appraisals. There are many 1957 Bel Air's out there, but there are very few restored to this level with all the awards and documentation.
