Vehicle Detail

Please, no scams this time. I am relisting after a scammer hit the "Buy it Now". I know all about the buyer wanting to send a check for more than the car costs and have me send them the balance. This may be my first e-Bay auction but I do have a working knowledge of the scams. My payment guidelines are pretty clear below. Deposit made through PayPal and exact balance due either in the form of a check, wire transfer or cash. I will not accept checks written for more than the amount due. Now to the auction.Listed in this auction is a genuine 1966 Ford Fairlane GT 390 car. It also came from the factory with a 4 speed transmission and was originally red on red. All of this information is validated by the door tag. You can now see the car is in primer but the red is clearly visible under the black primer. The interior appears to be the original bucket seat style interior however it was either dyed black somewhere along the line or a black interior was put in the car. To tell you more about this car, I would definitely label it as a running and driving car but it is in need of a full restoration. The car was being driven on a regular basis but again, it begs to be restored back to its original glory. I have only owned the car a short while but I was told by the previous owner that the 390 had been rebuilt and it has less than 500 miles on it. Based on the fresh paint and how it was applied, I tend to believe what I was told. It is obvious that someone did not simply do a quick paint job on the engine while it rested in the engine bay. The engine appears to have a non-stock "lopey" cam in it and it spins over well and cranks easily. The dual exhaust appears to be very new. The 4 speed transmission is long gone and in its place is a 3 speed transmission. It seems to shift through the gears fine and the shifter has what I call a long shift pattern. Someone told me they think the rear end has been swapped but I have not confirmed that. You can also see that the car now sports some sort of inexpensive traction bars that would be easy to remove if you desired. The interior needs some cleaning up and as you can see from the pictures, the headliner is missing along with the dash pad and console. I am not sure if all of these cars came with a console but I wanted to make sure I mentioned that it does not have one. The door panels are the GT panels and the carpet is a replacement. Lastly, the body does have some rust but nothing that cannot be repaired (in my opinion). I have tried to include pictures of what I think are the areas that need the most attention but I will leave that up to each individual to draw their own conclusions. The door tag is in place and I have included a picture of it. It does code out to be a red on red, 4 speed 66 GT 390 Fairlane. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have and note the car is being sold in "as is" condition with no written or implied warranty. Since this is an auction, the reserve will not be disclosed and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I am not interested in any trades and the car will be available for pick up once all funds have been verified by my bank. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction and that can be paid through PayPal, cash, certified check or wire transfer. The balance is due within 2 weeks from the end of the auction and it must be in the form of cash, certified check or wire transfer. If paying by check, keep in mind that it has to clear my bank before the car can be moved. This means sending it to me before the car is actually picked up. Thanks for looking! On Feb-25-13 at 07:28:48 PST, seller added the following information: As of this morning there are over 150 people watching this auction. Yipee, the car is going to sell! With that said, I have had numerous inquiries regarding the underside of the car. I now have in my possession 21 detailed pictures of the underside of the car that show the floor pans, frame rails and torque boxes. The torque boxes and frame rails appear to be in very good original condition and it is obvious the front floor pans were replaced by a previous owner. If you are serious about the car, feel free to contact me and provide your e-mail address and I will gladly forward these pictures along in order that you may make your own assessment of the car. Thanks!
