Vehicle Detail
I am listing this car for a friend and I have done my best to ask him as many questions as I could think of prior to writing this description, but if you need more information then please just ask. So here are the details on the car: This is a clean and restored 1972 Buick GS Stage-1 that has been turned into a GSX Tribute vehicle. This car is the real-deal, numbers matching; Buick GS although the “GSX” package was added to the car at the time of the restoration so this should really be considered a clone or tribute car. This rare factory Stage-1 GS features the correct fully functional “Ram Air” hood with functional scoops, a fully functional (yes, it really works) hood mounted tachometer that operates as it should and still lights up, the correct GSX rear spoiler and of course the correct stripes, decals and emblems including the correct GSX grill and dash emblems. The Buick is in great condition overall and runs and drives like an absolute champ, but will need some minor things addressed at some point if you want the car perfect. The owner had the car restored close to 10 years ago and although it still looks great, there are minor issues with the paint work that are worth notating. For example, there is a small dent in the passenger front fender that chipped off the paint and there is some minor bubbling just above the rear wheel well, as well as several small nicks and chips in the paint from the past ten years of usage. None of the above mentioned effects the function of the vehicle, but the car is not completely flawless and these are worth mentioning just so you understand the car is not perfect and it’s an older restoration. The paint is still very bright and shiny as you can clearly sees in the photos. I looked under the vehicle to the best of my ability and the bottom side of the car looks as clean and solid as the top. Other then some minor bubbles, the car appears to be VERY solid with no holes in the floors or trunk. Please review the several photos and videos provided as what you see is what you are buying. This is a really sharp looking Buick GSX that I can tell you personally turns heads wherever and whenever it is driven. You can’t go on a five minute drive in this classic Buick without somebody smiling and giving you a “thumbs up” gesture! The tan interior is clean and although also 10+ years old, it is basically free of tears, stains rips or smells. The vinyl seats are power although not currently hooked up. At the time of restoration, the carpet was replaced, the dash pad recovered, a new wiring harness was installed as was a new headliner. There is a window crank handle missing on one of the back windows and some stains on the back seat, but I havent tried to remove them so they may just wipe off. There are a few wrinkles in the headliner although it is free of stains and tears. The car has factory power steering and power brakes, manual windows, manual door locks. The factory installed A/C is still in the car although not currently functioning. All other components of the A/C system are there (compressor, accumulator, evaporator, and condenser) so getting the A/C functioning again should be fairly simple and may it simply needs to have the system recharged. The motor is the correct, number matching small block Rocket 350 “Stage 1” backed by the original TH-350 automatic transmission. The car retains all of its correct factory components with the exception of an Edelbrock 650CFM carburetor (the factory carb has since been rebuilt and is included with the sale of the vehicle) and the exhaust system has been changed. Additionally, a new battery has been installed as has new brakes on all four corners and newer shocks on all four corners. The car retains the factory chrome 15" rallye wheels with center caps in really nice condition and four brand new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (the tires have less than 200 miles on them). The car starts with a simple tap of the starter and truly has great street manners. The motor runs smoothly and very strong and the transmission shifts through all the gears as it should. Both the motor and transmission were rebuilt at the time of the restoration although the exact mileage since then is unknown. The car drives straight down the road and is basically free of any rattles, vibrations or noises other than the purr of the exhaust. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere! All of the exterior lights and turn signals work as do the brake and parking lights, although the windshield wipers are currently not working. I have not spent any time trying to diagnose the problem; it may simply be a blown fuse. The speedometer cable is not currently plugged into the back of the cluster (again, not really sure why) and there are aftermarket oil pressure, water temp and voltage gauges that all work as they should. The factory AM radio stopped working and was removed for repair, but has been lost since then so there is currently no radio in the dash. Again, please look at the multiple photographs and videos of the GSX as what you see is what you are bidding on. I personally took these pictures and video clips just prior to writing this description so you can see how the car looks currently. The car is not perfect and if you are looking for a concourse restored GSX then this is probably not the car for you. On the other hand, if you want a great driver quality car with only minor issues to be addressed as you go and save yourself THOUSANDS of dollars in the process, then this may be exactly your new car. I have added several links below of the car running, driving as well as a walk around video. You will also find a link for the NADA Collector Car price guide so you can research the car and its collector/investment value. This car is being listed with a very reasonable reserve and WAY BELOW market value. Please bid on this vehicle only if you are serious and qualified with cash money in hand. I have the signed title in my possession and ready to transfer. Please no trade deals so please do not bother asking. If you are serious about the GSX and would like to see the car in person, please send me a message through eBay or you can text message me directly at the following number: (text messages only please) 1-352-209-0710. Please note, the car is also being offered locally so in the event it is sold, the auction will be ended. This car is being sold in “as is” and “where is” condition with no warrantees expressed or implied. I would HIGHLY encourage anyone to come see and hear the car in person before bidding. If you have zero or negative feedback, please contact me BEFORE you bid! If you would like to make an offer I am happy to present it to the owner and if agreed upon, a buy it now option will be added to the listing, otherwise the car will be sold to the highest bidder. Terms: I will require a non refundable $500.00 deposit due within 24 hours from the auction end; the balance must be paid in no longer than seven days in cash or bank issued cashier’s check ONLY. I am able to store the car at my home while you make your shipping plans although please no longer than two weeks (and the vehicle must be paid in full). If you plan on flying in and driving home, I will do my best to assist you although I work full time so please do not count on that.
