I AM SELLING MY HUSBANDS 1967 CAMARO. I WOULD CALL HIM MY LATE HUSBAND BUT YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE HOW FUNNY THAT REALLY IS. THIS WAS MY HUSBANDS FIRST LOVE. I THINK I WAS HIS 15TH. MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY 7 MONTHS AGO AFTER A VERY LONG ILLNESS. HE WAS SICK FOR ABOUT 27 YEARS. HE PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 1984. FOR ABOUT THE FIRST 4 YEARS HE DROVE IT AROUND TOWN ABOUT 3-4 DAYS A WEEK. IT WAS A PLAYTHING, NOT A WORK CAR. I DROVE IT FROM TIME TO TIME. SOMETIMES HE WOULD TELL ME THINGS ABOUT IT AND I TRIED TO PAY ATTENTION OR SET IT TO MEMORY. HOPEFULLY I CAN REMEMBER MOST OF IT. HE WAS UNABLE TO WORK ON IT SO WHEN IT NEEDED A TUNE-UP OR ANY OTHER REPAIR HE WOULD DRAW PICTURES FOR ME AND EXPLAIN HOW TO WORK ON WHATEVER IT NEEDED. BECAUSE OF THIS I LEARNED A BIT ABOUT IT WHICH MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT HELP ME TO DESCRIBE HER. THEN AGAIN, I JUST MIGHT MAKE AN IDIOT OF MYSELF. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK. MY HUSBAND TOLD ME IT WAS HIGH PERFORMANCE AND HE HAD THE TOP END REBUILT IN ABOUT 1987. SINCE THEN HE HAS PUT NO MORE THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT I WOULD SAY. HE SAID THE (CYLINDERS??) WERE BORED OUT. (DOES THAT SOUND RIGHT). IT HAS A 2 BARREL CARBORATOR. I WAS UNDER IT A COUPLE OF TIMES FIXING THE LINKAGE, THE ARMS ARE A LITTLE LOOSE AND NEED SOME SPACERS OR NEW SPACERS. OTHERWISE IT CAN STICK IN BETWEEN. I KNOW IT'S A PRETTY EASY REPAIR, I'VE DONE IT BEFORE TO OTHER CARS. THE TRANSMISSION IS A FACTORY INSTALLED (AT THE TIME THE CAR WAS MANUFACTURED) SAGINAW 4-SPEED. IT WAS REBUILT ABOUT 1,000 MILES AGO AT THE MOST. I REMEMBER HIM BRINGING BACK THE TRANY FROM A SHOP IN SACRAMENTO AND HAD A SPEED SHOP IN RENO INSTALL IT. THE REAR BRACKETS THAT ARE ABOVE THE LEAF SPRINGS HAVE BEEN BEEFED UP. I'M SORRY I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT THEY ARE CALLED. THEY WOULD SOMETIMES SNAP BECAUSE THE AMOUNT OF JUMP THE CAR HAS OUT OF STOP LIGHTS. THE ARM FOR THE ALTENATOR WOULD DO THE SAME SO WE BEEFED UP THAT TOO. I REWIRED THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR BECAUSE THE STUPID ORIGINAL INSTALLATION WOULD MAKE AN ARCH TO THE SIDE WALL OF THE CAR SO I INSULATED BETWEEN IT. THE ALTENATOR HAS ABOUT 2,000 MILES ON IT. THE REAR WINDOW GASKET HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY REPLACED AND THE METAL AROUND THE WINDOW RESTORED. AS YOU MAY KNOW A DESIGN FLAW FOR CAMAROS IS FOR THE WATER TO POOL ALONG THE RIDGE OF THE WINDOW AND RUST IT OUT. ON THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN CURED. THE BATTERY IS NEW BUT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT A YEAR SO I NEED TO CHARGE IT. I HAVE A LARGE CHARGER IF YOU'D LIKE ME TO DO THAT FOR YOU. I'M NOT SURE WHAT BRAND OF WHEEL RIMS IT HAS ON IT BUT PEOPLE USED TO KNOCK ON THE DOOR AND ASK US IF WE WOULD LIKE TO SELL EITHER THE CAR, THE TRANSMISSION OR THE RIMS. MY HUSBAND TOLD ME WHAT THEY WERE ONCE AND THAT THEY WERE DESIREABLE (UNLIKE ME ANYMORE) BUT I FORGOT (IT'S AN AGE THING), (IN ME NOT THE CAR). WE DID SOME RESEARCH WHEN HE FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR AND DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY SOLD IN NEW YORK. BECAUSE OF THIS, IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY SMOG EQUIPMENT ( THAT MEANS ANYTHING.....YEAH!) AND NEVER WILL NEED IT. THE CAR WAS MADE INTO A DUAL EXHAUST BY A SPEED SHOP IN FREMONT CALIFORNIA. HE USUALLY TOOK IT TO SPEED SHOPS FOR WORK, NOT JIFFY LUBE OR MIDAS. HE HAD A THING FOR SPEED SHOPS. I THINK THEY PUMP IN TESTOSTERONE GAS. OR WOULD THAT JUST BE CALLED GAS? NEVERMIND. I REMEMBER MY HUSBAND SAYING THE MUFFLERS WERE GLASS PACKS. I COULD BE WRONG ON THAT AND DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE SO IF YOU NEED ME TO CHECK PERHAPS YOU COULD TELL ME WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. I KNOW THE BODY AND FRAME ARE STRAIGHT. IT WAS PUT ON A COMPUTER IN 1989 I THINK AT BRIDGES POTIAC IN SAN LEANDRO CALIF. AND MEASURED. MY HUSBAND ALSO TOLD ME IT HAS HEADERS. PERHAPS IF YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS YOU CAN TELL. I KNOW THAT IN ORDER TO REMOVE ONE OF THE SPARK PLUGS YOU NEED A DOUBLE UNIVERSAL DEEP SOCKET WRENCH BECAUSE HE SAID THE HEADERS WERE IN THE WAY. THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT CAR THAT WOULD TURN OUT VERY NICE. HERE'S WHAT I KNOW NEEDS FIXING: IT NEEDS TIRES ON ALL FOURS. I HAVE NOT STARTED IT FOR A YEAR BUT I KNOW THAT IT RUNS VERY NICE. THE GUYS AT THE SPEED SHOP HE WOULD TAKE IT TO WOULD LOVE TO STAND AROUND LISTENING TO IT. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THAT'S ALL ABOUT. I GUESS MY FRIENDS AND I WOULD DO THE SAME AROUND A PLATE OF CHOCOLATE COOKIES. AS I MENTIONED THE LINKAGE NEED TIGHTENING. EITHER THE HEADLINER NEEDS TO BE REATTACHED TO THE CEILING OR IT NEEDS REPLACING. I'M NOT SURE. IT NEEDS A TUNE-UP. IF YOU WANT I CAN PUT SOME OIL IN THE TOP END OF THE ENGINE AND START IT WHEN YOU COME A SEE IT OR PICK IT UP I WILL. YOU MAY JUST WANT TO DO IT YOURSELF. I KNOW HOW GUYS ARE WITH THEIR GIRLS, I MEAN CARS. IT NEEDS CARPET AND SEAT COVERS. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE PHOTOS IT MAY APPEAR AS THOUGH THE CAR IS MANY SHADES OF YELLOW. IT'S BECAUSE THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY YELLOW BUT IF PAINT WOULD COME OFF THEN I HAD THIS THING ABOUT MAKING SURE IT WAS ALWAYS PROTECTED SO I WOULD RUN OUTSIDE AND USE YELLOW PRIMER ON IT. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY TO SEE SOMETHING RUSTING AWAY SO I DID WHAT I COULD. CONSEQUENTLY IT NEEDS PAINT. I HAVE A LOT OF PARTS FOR THE CAMARO. MY HUSBAND WAS GOING TO RESTORE IT BUT HE BECAME SO SICK HE JUST COULDN'T. THE MANY PARTS COME WITH THE CAR. THERE ARE MOST LIKELY MORE IN THE SHED THAN I REMEMBER OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD SO IT WILL BE A SURPRISE. WHAT I CAN REMEMBER IS AS FOLLOWS: THE NOISE AND HEAT UNDERLAYMENT FOR UNDER THE CARPET. IT IS MADE CUSTOM FOR THE '67 CAMARO AND IS BRAND NEW. A TRACTION BAR, NEW GAS CAP( THE LAST ONE WAS STOLEN WHICH IS WHY WE DIDN'T PUT ON THE NEW CAMARO CAP. THE LAST ONE WAS ATTACHED WITH AIRCRAFT CABLE AND STAYED THERE UNTIL ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. I DON'T HAVE ANY CABLE. A NEW BOW TIE SIDE VIEW MIRROR, STILL IN BOX. THE BATTERY. ADAPTER FOR THE OIL FILTER TO MAKE IT A SPIN-OFF TYPE. NEW GRILL EVEN THOUGH THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE OLD ONE. I HAVE ALL OF THE EMBLEMS THAT GO ON IT PLUS A FEW EXTRAS. THERE ARE I THINK CHROME VALVE COVERS IN THE SHED. I HAVE THE WHEELWALL TRIM AND I'M PRETTY SURE I STILL HAVE THE THIN MOLDING THAT RUNS THE LENGTH OF THE CAR. A SEATBELT HOOK. I'M SURE THERE ARE OTHER PARTS HANGING AROUND AND I'LL BE SURE TO FIND THEM. ALSO THERE IS A $100.00 GIFT CERTIFICATE TO SUMMIT MOTORS. (A CAR PARTS CATALOG) I AM THROWING IN ALL OF THESE THINGS.
