Vehicle Detail
Can't afford an Impala SS? Need a family car and can't stand the idea of a ...(GASP)....MINIVAN?!? Look no further! Sorry but I don't have a ton of information on this car. It's actually my uncle's car and he is thinning out the herd of vehicles at home. He has too many of them and playing musical cars in the one car driveway...not to mention insurance, gas, plates....all for a car that doesn't get driven much...leaves this car on the chopping block! HIS LOSS, YOUR GAIN! He said "sell it and get whatever you can for it!" As you can see, the centercaps are missing. This was a result of leaving it outside his office, for sale locally on the street. Some honest hoodlums stole the caps for whatever reason. I've seen them available at the local yards or on ebay for a reasonable price...NO RESERVE, remember?? The exterior is about a 7 out of 10. The wood paneling is in decent shape with only a few scraped spots and tears in the vinyl portions. There was a massive amount of ding guard rubber on this car and you can see some of it is missing (Uncle actually called me and said he had a piece left in the garage to go with this sale). The missing pieces make it look bad but I personally think pulling the rest of it off, shows off the chrome! On the positive side, absolutely no signs of accidents or major repairs. No major rust (only a couple tiny rock chipped spots) to be found on the exterior. ALL the lighting works as it should. Tires in rear are nearly new in tread depth with only the fronts showing the typical wear from a car this sized. Paint shines nicely. All the glass and see-thru roof are excellent. Rear hatch needs support struts otherwise all doors and rear door swing/flip down works. Bumper covers have minimal scratches/cuts. Representative of 83k or less. Interior is super clean. Minimal wear, if any, on the cloth seating. FULL power everything and it all seems to work as it should. I've only driven the car for some errands but is a joy to drive. Factory floormats are intact under the rubber ones you see. Unseen are the 2 sets of keys included with the car. No factory manuals, tho. Floats while driving with no unusual pulling or wandering. Big boat, nice and comfy! Smooth at 80mph cruise. No pops or rattles in the suspension. Sorry, but since there were no noises, I didn't jack the car up for inspections as I normally do. Power items work as they should: windows, wipers, locks, cruise. climate control, hot heat, seats, etc. Notice below, there are no dummy lights illuminated while running (except the washer fluid) and all come on during run! No problems or headaches. Some sort of weird spill stain off to the left of the pic below. Seems it can be scraped out. I also couldn't figure out how to drop the rear seat back into flat position, but it's all there and ready to haul the kiddies! Ahhh...yes. The FAMOUS LT-1 engine. 265hp version iron cylinder head design...same as the Impala SS if I remember correctly. Note the monster cop car style alternator. Engine fires right up and runs smooth. There is a mild exhaust leak mostly coming from the broken AIR Pump tube (see below). Again...easy fix, but I didn't have the time to hunt one down. Outside normal oil changes, this car hasn't had much in the way of servicing, so I'm sure plugs and maintenance are due. The ONLY thing this car needs NOW is some rear brake work. Some pulsing can be felt and heard yet the brakes work nicely. I know the Opti-spark distributor are failure prone (this one is fine) so I didn't powerwash or detail the engine compartment. There aren't any major oil or coolant leaks, but it seems the valve cover gaskets are due to be changed. Light oil sweat on the passenger side with only a bit underneath...gone unrepaired can make a mess over time. Easy to change tho with GMs updated valvecover. Interstate battery is strong. Transmission shifts perfectly in all gears. Even has the towing transmission cooler installed from the factory, yet car has never been used for towing. No overheating or issues to be told. Only visible rust on the car (see below) is on the front wheelwell covers under the hood. Weird but there. Yes...this car can be driven home, no problem. Clear title in hand ready to sign over to the next happy owner! INSPECT my excellent feedbacks. BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE! No Worries. NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 185k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. My best friend is on his 5th from me. I treat you no different. If I haven't covered any of your questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at 815.744.7223. My name is Eric.
