Vehicle Detail
This one came to me as a stalled project so I am offering it to be finished by the next lucky owner. It already has plenty of new and collected parts to get you most of the way there. The body itself is very solid, it hasn't been exposed to direct weather and had the windshield in it until it was damaged in shipping about a week ago, so fog and condensation haven't made it in to destroy everything. However it's days are numbered from here on out so it needs to be put away inside somewhere soon. All I have done to it is wipe it down and take an inventory as far as the body. I got the points to fire and put in some new plugs, cleaned the carb and it started right up. It smoked for about a minute and cleared up. It runs surprisingly good, much better than me and the crowd thought it would. The engine was pulled from a '68 Cougar and the casting seems to support that. I know the owner and know he's had it for about 25 years, and knows these cars much better than I do, so I had to defer to him for the details. He used a wrecked Cougar as a donor so whatever fits off one of those is probably bolted to this car. Now the bad part, I see water in the oil and there is a set of new head gaskets with the parts........, so draw the logical conclusion from the clues. So in the spirit of reality I will agree that the motor will need gone through to be considered in the value. Having said that.....It runs pretty damn good so I personally would throw the gaskets on and just see how it goes while you build a nice stroker or the like. I'm just sayin'........ The trans goes in and out of gear and it moves fine. There are no brakes. The discs were turned but have sat and rusted, the new calipers and pads were bought and are present. The front suspension has had several bushings replaced already and the lower ball joints are new. The rear has new bushings and shocks. The exterior has been primered over stock paint with no evidence of bondo anywhere. The front fender is a replacement but the head light bucket is not, so I would guess side damage to the original. The hood is buckled in the front and the lower valance is new, luckily the radiator support received no impact. All panels are straight and solid, the doors and trunk shut nice, the original keys are present and work open all locks. The door wipers were replaced ( before primer ) and I found new door gaskets, trunk gasket and hood gasket. The other important strips, felt wipwers, etc. are either on the car or with the parts as you can see from the photos. The interior is all there and optioned nicely. I used simple green and a vucume cleaner to achieve what you see. The contents of the vacume is in the trash bag in case I got an emblem or something, and to give an idea of what was there when I got it, filled with parts and boxes and dust and dirt. Happy hunting!!! The console is correct for the A/C, but per old school thinking, the car was changed over to just heat at one point. At least the dash is set up for it and the switches are still there. There are both stock and aftermarket door panels, There are lots of extra emblems, and replacement trim pieces. There is another radio bezel to replace the one cut for a stereo ( for the purist ). The interior can go whatever direction you want. There are brand new bumbers, the proper dual exhaust rear valance, a new headliner and abunch of other little things. Some other things: Tilt wheel, A/C, power disc brakes, power steering, deluxe interior. Clear title, original keys. So feel fere to ask questions and I'll give the little specifics you will want to know. Thank you and Good luck!!!
