71 DUSTER Extremely RARE FACTORY Inviolet Purple w/ White painted stripes. Has a newly REBUILT 318 [# matching ? ] engine w/ a 4 bbl. carb on an aluminum intake. Has the factory 904 automatic transmission, with the Factory Black/Grey bucket seat interior and Console shifter. Has Map Light and Rear Window Defrost. The Duster has 5 matching RALLEY wheels with center caps and B F Goodrich T/A's that are as NEW. I'm not positive of the rear gear ratio but I'd guess 3.23 - will check tag and verify. Also has the 70 style WING on the trunk. The 318 - 4 bbl. engine was Rebuilt by a local machine shop here and reciept from said shop is included in sale. I presume the transmission was rebuilt at the same time, but cannot verify. However, the transmission works perfectly and shifts excellent. Has Power Steering, Was an A/C car, but no-longer hooked up and missing lines, compressor,and condenser. Has Power Steering, also. The car was started and pulled out of barn for pictures and upon starting, after sitting for 3 weeks, there is NO NOISE from the engine, lifters etc. Sounds Smooth and HEALTHY. I suggested Duster 340 emblems to my buddy,and enjoy it as anyone who rode in it would believe it was a 340, however he didn't agree. He said someone else could but he wasn't. The body is pretty straight, however no where near perfect. Paint looks fairly good and is shiney, however it is an amature paint job. He has made some repair to the floorpan with bad cut out and good thicker metal welded back in and covered with bedliner paint material,, as well as the spare tire well. This was done VERY PROFESSIONALLY and will last a LONG,LONG time Dashpad has been replaced and guages have been restored as well, and currently trying to locate a correct MOPAR radio. Everything works correctly. The sending unit in the fuel tank has also has been replaced with a new unit. Needs: Trunk weatherstrip. Windshield chrome trim [ have a lead ] Probably Windshield [ rock chipped - depends on your states regulations] Most importantly --- DRIVER - Someone who wants an older MOPAR to enjoy 4-5 years without having to unload your wallet to enjoy it. As far as we've been able to tell, other than a less than stellar bodysanding and repaint, the car is all Original and was well cared for. RUNS and DRIVES VERY WELL! Odometer indicates 61000 mi. { Sorry, I was corrected that this is ORIGINAL MILES, by the previous owner. I assumed it was over but was corrected.} The MILAGE is CORRECT per the ODOMETER !!!!! "See Pic's " What my buddy has done since he purchased the car ; repair to floorpan and paint repair to trunk sparetire well New wheel, tire, 3 centercaps. Install New dashpad restore instrument cluster and guages restore cosmetics on console restore rear defroster restore correct marker lights and paint. install and restore correct park/turn signals restore grille and correctly paint replace antenna paint stripes correctly replace electric fan with correct fan repair carb. linkage and shift detent linkages fuel sending unit This car has easily had 7-8000 dollars spent on it, but it's now time for someone to ENJOY it for 4-5 years without having to spend a fortune on it, or to finish a restoration and make a trailer-queen. Either way, it's time to go as he has started back on his old long time project. There is no Reserve on this auction as opening bid is a GUARANTEED sale.
