Vehicle Detail
Up for auction to the highest bidder is a very nice frame off restoration Honda 305 Scrambler, also known as the CL77. All chrome on the bike has been re-chromed including wheels, spokes and exhaust, the tank and side covers repainted period correct candy orange. (The last year of the CL77's came in a choice of Candy Blue, Cloud Silver or Candy Orange) The frame was sandblasted and repainted with Eastwood Extreme Chassis enamel. The entire engine was overhauled top and bottom end (split case) with new gaskets, valves cam chain and piston rings. The clutch has been redone with new plates. It has a new o-ring chain with new front and rear spockets. The exhaust is loud....or not, depending on which way you turn the NOS snuf or nots, We installed new period correct tires, NOS period correct cables,NOS air filters, NOS hand grips, mirrors, foot rubber, NOS fork boots, new fork seals etc etc. To much new stuff for me to remember. Oh yeah, since we took the photos we also replaced the spark plug wires with period correct grey plug caps. We also installed a NOS seat cover that looks great. The bike runs and shifts awesome, just like it is supposed to. We put a lot of time, effort and money into this restoration and I am confident whoever ends up with the bike will be very happy with it. The front fender although re-chromed has a few small indentations/imperfections, no big deal but I thought I should mention it. Don't think they show up on the photos. the rear fender has a very small split near the chain and under the seat that you can't see unless you are looking for it. I repaired it with JB weld. It's a great bike, not perfect, but as you can see from the photos it is really a nice looking (and running) Vintage Classic that will bring years of nostalgic fun to the new owner. I posted several more detailed photos of the bike from the beginning of the restoration process to the finished product on my photobucket site, as well as a video of the bike starting and running. Please click on the link below to view the photos Click to visit photobucket! It will be sold with a clear State of Wisconsin title signed and undated by the second owner who purchased the bike in 1974. Keep in mind this restored motorcycle is 45 years old and will be sold in as is running condition with no warranty, expressed or implied. I also have the bike for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction at any time.On Feb-16-13 at 11:29:46 PST, seller added the following information: I have received many requests to purchase the bike outside of Ebay. Please disregard the sentence above about having the bike for sale locally. I have decided to end all efforts to sell the bike locally and I will let the auction run its course. It will sell to the highest bidder!
