What a cool little car!! Gosh this thing looks great in blue!! Safest cars on the road, Tinted windows and a wing too?? I'm sold. I've actually had this car for awhile for lack of time to go over it. But I FINALLY have! I've personally logged about 200 miles on the car to ensure it's reliability. Car is fully loaded with nearly every or all options available for this year and model. Note the working driving lights option. No, it's not perfect but it is an excellent example of Volvo reliability. Exterior is an easy 7.5 out of 10. Minor minor dents/dings (on the hood and doors-only visible from extreme angles if looking for them). Paint shines nicely and you will LOVE going to the carwash to sport your "not like everyone else's Honda" look! No signs of any major body work or repairs. Front and rear bumper covers look great with only minimal flaws. No major rust to be found on the car with the only (typical) area being behind the front wheels/lower fender. For whatever reason, Volvo cheaped out on the mudflaps from it's other models. The 40 series lineup suffered from it. Sorry for the gravel slop...fresh driveway mix and it's swampy down here! Front tires are matching Goodyears with easily 75% tread. Rears are a matching off brand that look very recent and beefy. ALL tires are quiet and ride on nice clean vibration free rims, even at 80mph! Again...only a handfull of expected dings/scratches on the entire car. Only eyesore...and very hard to see until pointed out...is this scrape below that has been nicely touched up. Bruised but NOT abused! Note the tiny rust bubble and tread on the rear tires. Driver's side didn't seem to suffer the same fate but below is pretty minor compared to most 40 series cars I've sold. Interior is LOADED UP! Sporting an 8 out of 10, only complaints are the few leather cracks/wear in driver's bolster and small carpet stains. Super comfy HEATED power (driver's only) seating! ALL power items work as they should: heated seats, climate control, windows, locks, sunroof, cruise, mirrors (a bit finnicky on the passenger side), AM/FM/CD player, info panel, etc. Even the power antenna works!! Notice ALL the dummy lights illuminate during startup with none on during run. The car did have a couple codes set when I picked it up, the cam advance and retard codes. Indicitave of a typical failing VVT solenoid. I cleared the codes and the light didn't come back on. You can get a used one on Ebay for about $30. I'd personally just leave it and drive it. Common issue on these cars. Volvo knows it. They made an updated gasket with a tiny screen to counteract the future oil clotting. For the records, the tiny stains on the headliner trim is glue...you may have not even noticed...but I'm picky like that! Full spare setup intact and ready for your trip home! Sorry, no factory floormats, manuals and only one factory key is included. No keyfob. As all my ads come to this....my favorite part. The engine compartment! I take a ton of pride to expose this portion since this is the heart of you car, or your daughter's car, or whomever. My name is on it and my excellent feedback relies on it. Please inspect my feedbacks. This engine starts and runs smoothly. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. I've inspected the timing belt and it HAS been changed according to the proper interval. No tag, but my experience says it was changed about 30k miles ago. Spark plugs are recently Volvo issued and clean. Volvo air filter. All signs of recent Volvo dealer ship service. Oil is clean. Trans fluid is spotless. Transmission shifts in all gears as it should. As you may or may not be aware, but the 40 series lineup is notorious for failing upper strut mounts. Failing isn't a proper term...."wearing" is more like it. The rubber gets soft causing the upper bearing to fail...in turn making popping noises while turing or driving. Causing the alignment to go out of whack, making the car pull all over the place (remember that while you testdrive those cars at the local car lots! Mine get fixed). This car no different. The left side is worn...BUT...I've installed a new one along with a new outer tie rod end! And, if needed, I will do the right side..BEFORE you pick the car up! No worries. Interstate battery is super strong. Brakes are recent, noise free and strong enough to throw you thru the dash if needed. BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE!! I have. NO RESERVE!! Easily a $400 setup. You can also see on the hood the mercury tilt sensor and the antenna on the windshield. No remote, tho. BUT....being a former installer myself, it's super easy and worth your time to pull the underdash cover off to find out the model# and order remotes or stop in at a local shop that installs them and pay em to do the same. I'd be willing to bet it's a FULL BLOWN alarm/remote starter/keyless entry that is far superior over the factory installed unit. Plus much cheaper to code remotes. Buy the matching remotes, flip a few switches and move on with your day!
