Vehicle Detail

I've owned this rare gem for 40 years and it has always been garaged. This will be a great car for you. Buyer will receive a bill of sale as there is no title requirement for this vintage in Connecticut. The first MGA 1500 Coupe was manufactured in September 1956. The car/chassis number is 32056. The engine number is BP15GB15873. The body has been unbolted and the interior has been gutted down to the floors and the seats down to their frames. The car is ready for a frame-up restoration. The 1500cc engine has been pulled and will need to be rebuilt - as far as I know, it is the original engine for this car. Other features include wire wheels, full spare tire, luggage rack, rearview mirrors (dashboard-mounted and front fender-mounted). I did a mini-restoration in 1972 and last drove this beauty in 1976. It has been garaged ever since. Nothing beats the sound, smell, feel and speed of an MGA. A great drive, hugs the road, purrs like a kitten with that trademark MGA exhaust sound advertising the best of its day. All parts shown in the photo's are included in the auction, which includes a number of duplicate parts. The frame is solid but like most MGA’s the battery boxes will have to be redone. The body is in generally very good condition with the usual rust on the bottom of the fenders with the following spots needing more attention: passenger side front fender needs to be banged out or replaced. A small dent on the driver's side rear fender needs to be banged out. The rocker panels have good metal but need more attention. The engine compartment and cab are in excellent shape. The trunk has some rust but no rust-through. The hood, trunk and doors are aluminum and have excellent metal. There is minor rust through where the roof line meets the driver's side rear fender. The bumpers are in fair condition. The rear window glass and windshield glass are in good shape with no cracks. If you are not familiar with the coupe, it has roll-down driver and passenger windows with window vents and outside door handles. The driver’s side door glass is missing. The passenger side vent window needs a new handle. The wooden steering wheel is in good condition. A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours after close of the auction. Full payment is due within 72 hours after close of the auction. Immediate full payment is due for a "Buy it Now" purchase. The winning bidder takes the car and many parts in "as-is" condition with no warranty and is responsible for pickup or shipping and all associated costs within 7 days of the close of auction. Seller reserves the right to cancel the auction early at his discretion. Good luck with your bidding!
