Vehicle Detail
I know...I know..."Hey Eric! Why are you selling this fine piece of indestructable machinery?!?" Well...I'll tell you why....I don't need it anymore. I originally bought it for a simple shop/plow/lot truck. But...I just picked up a near identical Bronco. Smaller and more of what I can use. This monstrocity is too much for what I need. MY LOSS YOUR GAIN NO RESERVE! Rusty but trusty is the slogan here. All business. I don't plan to get too deep into all of it's flaws since they are pretty well explanitory in the pics. This behemoth has to be at least 2 tons of heavy metal. Scrap alone is about $700. The rims on this truck are worth that. Amazingly the truck runs and drives pretty great. Yes the tires are noisy and worn, but the thing drives super straight and doesn't pull all over the road even at 70mph cruise!! And cruise it does. You'd expect this beast to be a rattley loose suspension clunker....but it's not. Pretty tight and noise free under normal driving. I've never taken it off road, so normal driving is all I can vouch for. The engine fires right up with a bump of the key and runs smooth. The transmission shifts thru all the gears effortlessly and the speed limit gets found fast! Visually part this truck out and you will find a solid clean hood. HEadlights, taillights in great shape. The passenger door is super solid. With the exception of the small lower center cracks in the windshield, ALL the glass is good. The rear tailgate is nicest of all. Front and rear bumper is nice chrome with hardly any damages. Big Big tow hitch and related wiring. Bed liner. 3rd brake box installed inside. Heat blows HOT. Overdrive switch works. Wipers work. Even comes with a nice Kenwood CD player!! The rims appear to be American Racing aluminums and are in very good condition. No vibrations or wobbles or bent lips. Pretty sure the previous owner bought em new in a package way back, but the tires, as most 4x4 trucks are, sound like a 4 by 4!! Comes with a "Special Edition" John Deere license plate blank and a super cool bug guard! The body has the usual rusted thru areas. If the driver's door wasn't dented up, it's a keeper. It barely has any signs of rust, yet the rest is gone. Replacement front fenders can be had for less than a couple hundred bux shipped free here off ebay. Bed is ugly but super strong on the inside where it counts. I've loaded many a motorcycle in it for hauling with no worries. It's not loose or flopping around like most rotted trucks. Don't let this stellar Diesel badge fool you! She's ALL gasser! 351 cubic inches of fuel injected powerhouse! Next to the 7.3 diesel, this motor is the ONLY way to go...I prefer it over the old 460 gas hog. The 5.8 is tough to beat...the miles on this one speaks for itself. The bronco I just bought has it and the bronco I sold last year to a fellow that drove it all the way home to Florida had 170k!! Reliable. Tailgate obviously has been replaced. This one is solid as a new one. Notice: ALL the exterior lighting works as it should. I haven't tested it since I don't have anything to attach to it, but it has BOTH electrical trailer plugs out back. Single un-mufflered exhaust is a one of a kind out the side. Not too loud, not too quiet especially with the converter still in place. Exhaust does have a light leak up front buy a manifold, tho. Pretty much goes away after it heats up. Note the lack of major rust on the door. 2 new front fenders makes this thing justlikenew2u!! I snapped a few underside pics to show there isn't any noticable frame rot or even any major drivetrain leaks! Nearly dry as a bone at both the axle housings. Trans pan has a little sweat but even the bottom of the motor is dry, considering. It does NOT leave any spots on my shop floor overnight. I never had it up off the ground, but the suspension seems tight. Doesn't pop or rattle over bumps. As stated, no wandering or pulling. Steering wheel is off center. Aftermarket Warn Hub locks activate the 4wd. It works as it should in low and high modes with only a little bit of of what feels like U-joint slop under HARD pavement turns (binding) on the left. Again, i didn't bother to inspect for my needs as a shop truck. Otherwise, I never needed to use it with the little bit of snow we had so far. Truck drives nicely in 2wd thru the everyday stuff. I'm pretty sure the former owner most likely had a nickname of "Slim" or "Tiny" as my 6 foot 175lb frame sinks nicely into the driver's spot. Still plenty comfy tho as I will take the burnholed seat over the crappy vinyl option any day. Under the driver's floormat is a sweet silver dollar sized hole in the floor. I guess you can use it to dump your...coffee while driving?? I don't know... Yep. Tons of miles and tons of smiles were had in this one! The battery light is on, yet no charging problems. Common Ford thing on these older trucks. In fact, the alternator has recently been replaced and I have a killer 1000ca battery in it. Above you can see the voltmeter reads fine at idle along with the oil pressure. Note the fuel gauge...it's a twin tank setup. The front reads and works properly, but I've never driven it enough to test the rear. If you switch it to rear, you will see the gauge drop toward E and the truck will start to stutter. Must work since it's empty. Also noted, the Check Engine light randomly comes on while driving. Then clears after you shut it off as it's off during the next startup....again....shop truck...1995....NO RESERVE!! At least a $100 detachable face Kenwood CD player there. Very nice sounding, I might add...and I installed stereo systems for a living...I'm pretty particular about sound. Half a CB unit is there for you to rehab if you'd like. Don't forget the 3rd brake controller for your big trailer! Monster battery. Recent ACCEL Super Coil installed. I'm not sure of any service history. I haven't checked the plugs or changed the fuel filter. The truck doesn't overheat or leak anything. Coolant looks clean. Oil is SUPER clean, like that of a lower mile engine. Again....I didn't put much time or energy into this truck since my use was to be...snow...start truck...drive...plow a bit...park. Maybe run a few errands. The ONLY immediate issue...the brakes. They work but the pedal is low. Pump it twice while stopping and it firms up, as if it needs to be bled. Most likely, in my experiences, bleed the brakes and lube up the sliding parts of the calipers. Good to go. I never got the plow setup for it altho my searches found many setups in the $3-700 range for this and my Bronco easily. What I DID do, tho, was put some miles on it to ensure it's reliability. Never died. Never stalled. Never stuttered. Starts in this 10 degree weather. Heats up nicely and goes from A to B effortlessly. If you NEED a cheepie truck for work, or to scrounge scrap, or to haul 4wheelers or drag a camper or pull machinery or to take the F150 suspension out of a Bronco and install this donor F250 monster stuff...or.....??? THIS IS IT!! Inspect my excellent feedback! BID, BUY, and DRIVE ANYWHERE with 100% CONFIDENCE! Yes you can drive it home. There aren't many of these older trucks around anymore. Let's get em back on the road one at a time! NO RESERVE! GOOD LUCK! I apologize in advance if I sound like I'm scolding....but this NEEDS to be said. This vehicle is AS-IS/AS-SHOWN. The vehicle is in Illinois being sold by a dealer. There are many great affordable aftermarket warranty companies out there that will warranty nearly anything. Use them. WE CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE for your individual state's INSPECTION or EMISSIONS compliance. I am simply trying to offer you and possibly your family a quality reliable vehicle. Like most Americans, I still can't afford a new car. I regularly sell $3000-$6000 vehicles. Mostly what I would personally drive or own. I don't know if you are buying in my state or in Virginia or California...so I HAVE to make our cars ready for the road trip. I don't know who will be driving the car. So I MUST make it ready for your teen or your job in the morning. I can only promise I do the BEST that I can with what I have and what I sell. My EXCELLENT FEEDBACKS prove it. I'm not here to rip people off. I'm also here to help so feel free to contact me after purchase for anything. Even if you have any questions about a future purchase. Also, understand that I spend many countless hours (inspecting, repairing, cleaning, taking pics and writing specific personal ads) for everything I sell...not to mention the $125 sell fee that is charged to me at the end. Please don't jack around if you don't plan to go thru with the purchase. Thanks for your understanding. Now you're at the bottom. Hopefully I've covered the main specifics of the vehicle and eased your mind. I understand that you are putting yourself or your loved ones in this vehicle. I personally have put my own mother in an 01 C70 with 185k miles(which I just roadtripped 1500miles) and I personally drove a 98 S70 with 220k miles(which I just sold)! Many of my personal friends drive cars that I have sold them. My best friend is on his 5th from me. I treat you no different.
