This is a one owner barn find from Texas. When we found this bike it had not been on the road since 1982 and it was difficult for us to decide how far to go with the restoration considering it was in unbelievable preserved unmolested original condition. So here's what we did:>Stripped it down to the frame and we repainted frame and all black metal parts with Eastwood gloss extreme chassis paint.>Professionally repainted tank & side covers with period correct color rite paint.>Cleaned and polished all metal including engine and parts.>Rebuilt engine upper end (replaced all gaskets, replaced rings, points, plugs,battery and cam chain & tuned bike)>Replaced tires and all rubber including cables, chain, sprockets, starter and starter clutch as well as seat cover & tank badge with OEM correct parts. The chrome, although not perfect, was too good in its original condition to re-do. It stills shines and is rust free but shows its age.The miles are correct and this bike was loved and pampered its entire life until it was put away in storage in 1982 and brought out for sale by the son of the original owner. The CB450K1 was produced one year only and was a huge cosmetic improvement over the earlier model Black Bomber. They came in three colors that year...Candy Red, Black and Candy Blue like this one.
