For sale is this beautiful partially restored 1965 Cadillac Coupe DeVille RAT ROD. It is not heavily rodded & for you die-hard stock car owners out there it wouldnt take much to put it back to original. For the rat rod enthusiast you have a solid foundation & everything you need to make it your own. If you wished to make it original just put the factory wheels & factory interior back. The mileage is 84K & I believe that to be original but I cant be certain. Where to start: I have had this cool ride for two years & have never stopped improving it. The reason I bought it was because of the solid frame & body/trunk mounts, straight body & hole free trunk pan. The resto started with the transmission: it is totally rebuilt, new torque converter, with recipts. I put a new windshield in it. The suspension needed some work so I rebuilt the rear with new springs & shocks giving the car a slight rake & a plush ride. The engine was tuned up, new valve gaskets. The cooling system was upgraded with an exact original, 4 core radiator. New titanium battery. Then the brakes recieved a complete overhaul with a new master cylinder, pads & wheel cylinders. I fixed all the windows with new motors so they work great. It has a brand new single muffler & pipe from the exaust manifolds back. The rat rod black paint was applied last year & they did a very good job with complete coverage: door jambs, trunk, underhood. (the body had little rust & has never been in a collision) Its hard to believe but the stainless trim on this car is near flawless: it was installed with new factory clips. The car then got all new weatherstripping including: door rubber, trunk rubber & hood pad. Take a look at the detail of the engine compartment, the professionally installed trunk felt & restored, original jack assembly. Thats an original, never used Goodyear spare mounted on an original 65 Caddy rim. The headliner is an undamged, flawless original. Tilt, telescopic steering column is a really cool option. Original AM/FM radio is as well. The bumpers amazingly have no rust thru ANYWHERE. The last step was to locate a matching set of 15X6 Chevy truck steel rims, painted cherry red & new baby moon hubcaps. The tires are a decent matching set, size 235/75/15 with half tread & no dry rot. The car has the owners manual, comes with recipts for work done, etc. Simply a great car & priced below my costs & time. It is titled in my name, drives great, no smoke at start-up or ever, trans shifts like new because it is. I hate to sell this car before I am finished but circumstances require it. This means you will get a great deal. I will be happy to answer all questions you have honestly & quickly. The bad isnt that bad but needs mentioned. Leather seats need recovered. Dash pad needs re-done or replaced. The roof was painted expecting a vinyl top. It needs the carpet installed & there is a hole on the passenger side rear floor pan: really unusual on a car this solid but everything cant be perfect. Air cond. assembly is complete but, you guessed it, doesnt work: 40+ year old systems never do. The radio doesnt work but is probably just speakers. Here is something you dont see every day on an ebay auction. Wish to buy it now? I will make doing that even sweeter. Here are the details: BUT IT NOW & I will install the carpet & fix the floor: not just a crappy piece of metal but cleaned & welded, sealed & looking great. I have put many carpets in & know how to do it like factory. It will be a ACC custom piece, I have it here. I didnt do this yet because the best time to do it is when the interior is out of the car & the seats recovered. Everything will be carefully removed & carefully re-installed. Dont like the wrong rims on the car: I have the factory wheels, I can clean, paint them & install the perfect, original hubcaps. If the car sells for $5900. or less, you do these things yourself.
