Time has come to part ways with my favorite car. Growing family and company car has made it impossible to justify keeping my GTI. Up for auction is a 2001 Volkswagen : Golf GTI GLX Hatchback 2-Door VR6. This car only has 102K miles, and has been very well taken care of. Engine and Mechanical: The car runs great! I recently replaced the synthetic oil (Mobil-1), front and rear breaks ( both pads and rotors were replaced), and the alternator. Average mpg that I get is 27. The clutch was replaced at 70K miles. Keep in mind this is a timing chain driven car, so It will last another decade. The tires are in great shape with lots of life left and are mounted on BBS factory wheels. Exterior. Paint is in great shape. You will not believe its a 2001! VW is great at painting their cars, plus I wax it regularly so that helps as well. Please keep in mind and look at pictures, it is a 2001 and it has minor signs of use on the paint, i.e. small chips, tiny dings from rocks, etc. Interior. The car is fully loaded, and features most of the available options for this model, including power components and the heated seats package. Black leather seats are in great shape. The front seats do show some wear. The front passenger seat has minor rips that can easily be fixed at a shop or at home. The only other fault that I can think of is that the digits on the main computer display fade slightly during the day. I recently replaced the stick shift boot and knob. It shifts very smoothly!
