Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1974 Jeep CJ5. It is powered by an AMC 304 V8 which we believe is the original engine which may make this Jeep a factory Renegade package. It is a three speed manual transmission we believe the axels to be Dana 44's front and rear. According to our calculations the axle gearing is 4.27:1, the Jeep runs and drives well and the 4x4 works well. It has manual lock out hubs, and has a manual choke so it starts and runs well when cold. The engine has been upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, fendewell exit headers than go to medium loudness mufflers, the Jeep sounds throaty but is not overly loud. The Jeep has been in Arizona its entire life, but does have dents and dings all over the body. There is no rust but there are dents etc. I would call the Jeep a "five to ten footer" meaning that if you are 5 or 10 feet away it looks like a new Jeep, when you get up to it you notice the dents and dings but hey its almost 40 years old and these werent built to be show cars, but it is rust free. It has been repainted an industrial gloss white and has custom Super Jeep package graphics on the body tub. The body tub is 1976 and was swapped on many years ago. The Jeep has brand new black low back vinyl bucket seats, new seat frames, and a new factory rear seat from Rugged Ridge. The Jeep has 4" of total lift comprising of 2" lift Rancho springs front and rear and 2" lift Performance Accessories shackles. The tires are new 33x10.50x15 BFG KM2s and the wheels are vintage restored American Racing turbines that have been restored to brand new condition. The wheels and tires were installed in the spring of 2011 and have less than 200 miles on them. The Jeep belonged to my brother in law who was killed in an accident at work, and he performed all of the work and restoration from approx 2009 to 2011, we got it in the spring of 2011. We have kept it in storage and drive it occaisionally when the weather is nice, but honestly have only put maybe 100 to 150 miles on it over the last year and half, mainly a Sunday cruise when the weather is nice etc. We have decided that it might be time to pass it on to someone else to enjoy, this Jeep turns every head that passes by, and it just needs a few minor details to be perfect in our opinion, but it is ready to enjoy as it is now. Clear Arizona title in hand, the Jeep is located in Avondale, AZ. We would recommend shipping and can work with your shipping company as needed. *** In most of the photos the rear seat was not installed, but it has since been installed. *** Please feel free to ask questions, we will do our best to answer them. Thank You! On Nov-17-12 at 22:55:59 PST, seller added the following information:If anyone has any additional questions or requests for info regarding the Jeep please let us know. We are happy to answer and provide addtional infomration. We have lowered the reserve, and would like to make a sale. Thank YouOn Nov-19-12 at 05:38:15 PST, seller added the following information: We have lowered the reserve one more time, we would like to make a sale on the Jeep. Feel free to contact me with questions as I do not have email at work. Jim 989-284-9122 Thanks! On Feb-05-13 at 20:55:49 PST, seller added the following information: We received a question about if the Jeep includes a top and doors and it does not. It is just as listed in the auction, nothing else is included. Also we recieved questions about the possibility of flying in and driving the Jeep across country etc, with the low gearing it is not a freeway cruiser and also with no top or doors it would not be practical. We would recommend working with a shipping company such as Dependable Auto Shippers Inc for transport. Thanks - WCMOn Feb-05-13 at 21:00:24 PST, seller added the following information: We have recieved atleast a half dozen messages asking if we have a buy it now price or about the reserve. To be fair, we do not plan to end the auction early or set a buy it now price. We have set what we believe to be a fair reserve on the Jeep, the highest bid above that wins. Summer is just around the corner, so bid to win. Thanks - WCM On Feb-06-13 at 17:05:22 PST, seller added the following information: Hello, we appreciate all of the bids that have come in on the Jeep, and it is starting to get close to the reserve. Please only bid if you intend to follow through, we have had some rough luck recently in recent auctions where items have sold to people bored at work, or just wishing, who did not follow through with the purchase. So please, only bid if you intend to pay your bid amount and follow through with the purchase, that is only fair to us and the others following the auction. Thank you for your interest! - WCMOn Feb-10-13 at 18:55:31 PST, seller added the following information: A bidder asked if the Jeep had a VIN tag and if the number matched the title since it is later body tub. There original VIN tag was transferred over to the new tub, it is in the factory location on the drivers firewall in the engine compartment near the master cylinder and the number matches the title. Thanks - WCM
