Vehicle Detail
Collectors Dream. A super clean, original garaged CB 400 Four in running daily driver condition. Relive your past on this classic 'cafe' bike. The original red paint is clean with minimal minor scuffs and a few very minor helmet dings. Gauges work with a small amount of sun fading. Classic 4-into-1 original exhaust is rust free. The decals are in astonishing shape all complete with minor crazing and peel. The plastic side covers are unwarped, uncracked with the decals intact, including the grommets. This bike is unmolested with nearly all original parts, other than those replaced to keep it running. The engine runs soundly, no leaks. I've brought this bike back into daily driver status with the following: Engine values adjusted. Carburetors rebuild. New Battery. New voltage regulator. Rims Respoked in Stainless steel (1970's spokes were very low quality steel). New Chain. New rear shocks and coil springs. New tires & tubes. Turn signals and lights replaced with LED. I have the original 'coffee saucer' sized turn signals, which will be included with the bike The original rear break light assembly is missing - only the LED one the bike. (Owner I purchased the bike from lost it over the years sitting in his garage in the middle of updating the LED lights) All gauges, lights, charging and electrics work at this time. All the re-comissioning work was done by a mechanic. I purchased this bike 1 year ago, in a local shop who was working on completing the LED wiring. The owner started the job some time ago and wanted it complete to sell it. I own a few bikes and this is an exceptional smooth riding bike. The in-line 4 purrs without the thumping of normal cycle engine. The handling is fantastic and braking is crisp from the single font disc. The power rolls on smooth with a max rpm in the 10,000 range. This is a very fun bike and and gets great comments from those who know bikes. The 1975 400 Four is a bike of several 'firsts': The first in-line 4. The classic 4-into 1 exhaust. Overhead cam. 6-speed close ratio transmission. I am selling the bike to make room in my garage for other toys. The bike has current registion and clear California Title. Please note: This bike is also for sale locally and this listing may end at any time. Enjoy, please feel free to eMail questions. I am willing to assist with local pickup or shipping with a cycle shipping service - provided you make the arrangements. Updated: More Pictures of the underside of the bike, also detailing the fender chrome.
