Vehicle Detail

For sale is a beautiful example of a 1965 Honda Dream 305 CA77-CA78 in glossy blue. Blue seems to be the rarer of the 4 colors these bikes came in. Plenty of red, white and black ones out there. The VIN is CA781004412. I have owned this motorcycle for a little over a year and it is one of the finest examples of a vintage Honda motorcycle you will ever see. From the new Firestone whitewall tires to the leak-free engine that starts at the push of a button and runs perfectly, this bike gets attention wherever it goes. And for me, that means a few trips down Main Street in Huntington Beach and that's about it. I just don't have the time to ride it and this bike deserves to be ridden and shown. I had a custom seat made in white with matching blue piping and passenger grab strap, as well as a solo seat in the same white with blue piping. The stock red seat comes with the bike as well. In the year I've owned it I have basically just done cosmetic improvements to it, including having the stator cover, points cover and oil filter covers professionally polished, recoated the carb clamshells and had the engine crankcase covers refinished in IVD (that's ion vapor deposit for those who don't know... stuff they use in the aircraft industry) replaced brake and clutch levers, installed new HONDA clutch discs, installed a new battery, just gave it a thorough cleaning. Odometer says 13,xxx miles but I do not believe this to be accurate. The bike is currently registered in California and has the original black and yellow license plate assigned. Pink slip is in hand and in my name. I have the vintage tank badges that come with the bike in a file, but on it right now are recent reproductions. Mufflers are beautiful. I can email a lot more photos. Just ask. I know very little about this bike other than what my eye can tell and I will do my best to answer any questions. I am not an expert. Just an enthusiast of nice things and this bike wowed me when I saw it. Thus, I had to have it. Before it came to me, it seems that a prior owner had gone through the engine because it was spotless. When I took off the right crankcase cover to replace an engine seal and have the cover refinished, behind it was squeaky clean. No accumulation of chain lube, nothing. The bike runs flawlessly. Original petcock was rebuilt and doesn't leak a drop. I have a box of spare parts that come with it, including a disassembled motor (missing the oil pump) that is at .25 over and 2 brand new JB-2 batteries that are still in the box and have never had acid in them. The bike was entered in an Antique Motorcycle Club of America show in 2008 and scored a 99.5 out of 100 points. I have the score sheet available if you want to see it. I hate to let it go but it really deserves to be owned by someone who gets more out of it than I do. It needs to be ridden, shown, cared for and enjoyed. At my house it just sits there under a nice soft blanket and gets old. Not fair to an old beauty like this. On Jan-30-13 at 18:15:32 PST, seller added the following information: Some of you asked for pics of various areas of the bike that were not in the original listing so I added some more. Send me a message through ebay if you want to see something else and I will do my best to take a shot of it. The inside of the fuel tank was difficult to get good lighting on but I did my best. Looks clean in there to me.
