Vehicle Detail
(NEW INFORMATION IN CAPS BELOW 1-31-2013) Vehicle does not run. New engine needed. This car must be rebuilt! Used to get 50 mpg until the engine overheated and leaked engine coolant onto the ground. Poor engine coolant was used and on a cold day the radiator also froze or nearly so. All engine parts above the block are missing (including cylinder head exhaust manifold, intake manifold, throttle body, injector, and more). Alternator IS present. Transmission performance is sub par, ie, downshifting into second wasn't smooth, otherwise OK. Decent body on this first year Geo Metro except for wrinkle on drivers side fender above tire. California car, driven 5 years in Wisconsin and then parked from then until now. Little rust on the bottom edge of the hatchback. RUST ON PASSENGER SIDE ROCKER PANEL (BODY PANEL BELOW DOOR). FEW CRACKS IN UNDERCOATING ALONG UNIBODY SEAMS ON BOTH SIDES OF CAR HAS ALLOWED SOME RUST UNDERNEATH (SEVERITY UNKNOWN). SEE ADDITIONAL PICTURES OF UNDERBODY (TO BE POSTED LATER TONIGHT). I have driven this car across country and it was quite excellent. 55 gallon drum will fit sideways inside with the rear seats folded forward and the hatch will close. With two adults it is even possible to get over the continental divide in second gear. Exhaust pipe to resonator outlet was repaired but weak. Rest of exhaust system OK. Middle rear brake light needs regluing to hatchback glass. Stick on window tinting on three rear windows has always been bubbly but works. Seats are worn. Nearly all the buttons on the dash have popped off. Headlight button fails to stay on. Hatchback gas cylinders are no good. Driver side front tire is leaky. Antenna is stuck out. Driver side door latch mechanism is disconnected. Lots of good parts on this vehicle. Glass is decent. Missing spare tire. Dash intact. Everything worked except the engine when I parked it many years ago for the last time. Don't let this one get away! Sold as is, where is. Vehicle must be towed or trailered from site within 5 days of auction end.
