Vehicle Detail
Very well maintained 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. 134,096mi. I regularly see these being sold with up to 250k miles, so this one has lots of life left in it. Has a Snugtop locking fiberglass cover installed (over $1,000 new), PS, PB, PW, PL, cold a/c, power rear window, power mirrors, driver's side electric seat, vent visors, alloy wheels, Michelin Latitude Tour tires with about 30k left, running boards. Pennzoil Synthetic used for oil changes. Gets about 16-18mpg city and 20-22mpg on the highway. I drive for a living and have to have mechanically reliable vehicles and this one is and has been. Starts easily, runs smoothly, shifts great. I just got a steal of a deal on a Tacoma or I would not be selling this. There are a few minor chips and dings in the paint, but with the white paint, they don't show much and can be touched up easily. The snugtop in particular has several, but a total repaint there woud be easy- I thought about just doing a bed-liner type coating on the snug-top- just never got around to it. The previous owner bumped into something higher up like a loading dock, from the rear so the tailgate has a horizontal crease/fold on it- the paint is intact, though. The interior is great- I have refinished any of the faded or scratched plastic parts and had some upholstery replaced. There are a couple of small stains on the seats, but nothing very noticeable. The photos were taken after I returned from an out-of-town trip, so there are some bug splats and dirt marks on it- they will all wash off. There is a minor rattle in the front end, which I have tracked back to a brake caliper that needs new pins (I think it is poor design to mount the calipers with pins and clips, rather than bolts, as this eventually has to develop a rattle)- nothing hazardous- it stops great- just an annoyance. Since I've decided to sell it, I'm not going to bother to replace the pins myself. As is- no warranty. $250 deposit due within 48hrs, remainder in a verifiable bank check, cashier's check, or cash. If it is not cash and I can not immediately verify the check, I will not release the title for 3 days after deposit of the cashier's or bank check to insure it is not a fraud/forgery.
