TIME CAPSULE. 1978 mercury bobcat- same as pinto. 59000 original miles. The original white paint still shines and the interior is very clean and nice. There is very little to no wear on the white and red plaid bucket seats. The left front fender was replaced very early in life and it has some paint checking on it. The rest of the car still has the the original paint and original stripes!. This car has the original 2.3 4cylinder engine. It also has the original automatic transmission. The wheels are original also. There is very little rust or dings on the car. The rear quarters have some superficial rust on them and the left fender has a small dent by the front of the tire. The car runs and drives very nicely. The tires are in excellent shape, but they are old. The car had been in long term storage and was last licensed in 1998. We did the following to get it road worthy: Clean fuel tank and fuel lines, replace fuel filter, rebuild carb, install new spark plugs, new oil change and filter, install new timing belt and install new battery. This little hot rod runs and drives great. It is very nice on the inside. This bad boy is just begging for a 302 to give it some bark. The sunroof is original and the car has the original sunroof bag.
