1998 Toyota Corolla LE Condition: Engine runs excellent, front disc brakes were recently replaced and have less than 2,000 miles on them, the tires were also recently upgraded and only have around 3,000 miles on them (see pics), cloth upholstery is like new without any wear (even on the drivers-side seat), 4 speed automatic transmission shifts super smooth, A/C works great. This car has had annual state safety inspections the last 2 years, so there are no mechanical problems. No engine or transmissions leaks whatsoever, exhaust and muffler systems are in excellent condition with no vibrations or loud noises/leaks. Floor mats are slightly worn but in good shape for a used vehicle (see pics). Body/paint is really good shape for a 1998 vehicle, with a only few "stone chips" on the front of the hood and a very faint scuff mark on the front drivers side of the bumper--no "rust bubbles" or any decay of the metal other than the stone chips on the hood (see pics). I'll include a bottle of factory touch-up paint in case there are any future scratches. Its been very well taken care of and I've been using high-grade synthetic oil with yearly oil changes even when we don't get to 3,000 miles. Features: 120 horsepower, 16 valve dual overhead cam 1.8 liter 4 cylinder engine (25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway), 4 speed automatic transmission, power locks and windows, power sliding sunroof, front disc breaks, front wheel drive, electronic car alarm, cloth seats, aluminum alloy wheels, cruise control, cassette deck AM/FM radio, air conditioning, rear seats fold down for extended trunk space, 4 door sedan. History: This car was a company travel vehicle from 1998 until 2001 when we purchased it. It had just over 120,000 miles on it---nearly all highway miles. We've used this car for my wife to drive, but since she usually walks to work the Corolla has not racked up many miles at all as we've only put on 37,000 in 12 years since we've had it. When you hear the engine run and see how smooth the transmission is you won't believe this car has 157,000 miles--it really feels like a younger car because of the light load we've put on it and all the easy highways miles. Known Issues: If you're buying this vehicle in a state outside of Pennsylvania that requires an emission test, you may need to replace the exhaust gas recirculation unit to pass an initial emissions test. Our mechanic diagnosed the issue last year after a check engine light. Since we drive it less than 5,000 miles a year we are except from PA emissions tests and the unit has no negative affect on the engine or vehicle performance. It was estimated to be around $550-600 to replace this unit by our mechanic. Because of this issue, we have lowered our reserve limit to ~$750 below the Kelly Blue Book estimated value to allow you to cover the repair if it applies to your state registration requirements. The electronic key fob no longer attaches to the key chain so we carry it separately, but the drivers side door lock usually sticks when remotely unlocked so we use the key to open the doors anyway. The storage area door above the ash tray has one hinge snapped off, but as you can see from the pictures, the door will close neatly but may open if bumped or jostled. Also, the back seat cup holder is broken off, though it folds shut out of sight.
