Up for sale is my 1976 Jeep CJ5. It has a 258 ci engine, 1 bbl carb, 4 speed T18 transmission, and a 3.54 rear end. The engine runs great and starts right up every time. It does not smoke or have any leaks. It has good oil pressure. This jeep has a very rare fiberglass hardtop that is called a “TankTop”. It is the first one I have ever seen. It was designed to be able to drive with the doors open, although I don’t have the latches that hold it open. All of the windows on the TankTop slide open. The top is in great shape. It has a sunroof that was replaced with plexiglass, which is scratched pretty bad and patched, but it does not leak. The rear hatch needs one new lift shock. I have a pin that holds the shock up. This jeep is in excellent shape. It has the original paint and absolutely no rust on the frame. You can see in the pictures that there is no rust on the body. The paint is faded through in some areas and has a few scratches and very small dents. But it is in good shape for original paint. The brakes are in great shape, the flex lines are new. The gas tank was purchased recently. The four wheel drive is in good shape. It has new lock outs on the front. The front tires are almost brand new. The rear have a little wear, but not much. It drives well down the road. It has power steering and there is a little play in the gear box, but not too bad. It has sat in my garage for weeks and the only leak is the steering gear box, which is slight. The engine, transmission and differentials, do not leak at all. The interior is in pretty good shape. The front seats are aged, but in decent shape. The rear seat the same. The dash has a few small cracks on the ends. It has the original “Jeep” am radio that works. The front and rear tail lights work. The blinkers work most of the time, but some times they do not come on. The heater works and the windshield wipers work. The windshield is not cracked, but it does have a small spot in the middle that is discolored. It has a 8000 lb Warn winch model 8274 that works great. The remote that plugs into the winch comes with it. I have owned this jeep for over a year and have not driven it much. This jeep is not perfect, but is a good driver and very clean. It is rare to find a jeep with the original paint in this good of condition. The title is clear and still in the previous owners name.
